    Default Cruising with Special Needs

I have looked for info on the Cruising board regarding disabilities but thought I'd throw this out here as well.

When we go to the parks, I have needed/used a GAC card for the past 2 years. I sometimes need a mobility scooter - though not always (depends on how much/long I will be sitting vs standing still). *I have a GoGo elite/small 3 wheel but do not want to take it on this trip. I also just recently got a Disabilities Parking Tag

I do not intend to take my scooter on our upcoming cruise, but would love to read some input on that here.

Mostly, I'm curious what tips or advice you might share for guests with disabilities when it comes to cruising? What do I need to know? I'm worried about having to stand for too long while waiting for things....

What do I need to know?

There isn't too much standing around, except at the lifeboat drill. You may get a drill location that is one of the theaters or lounges where you can sit, but you won't find out until you board where your drill location will be. If out on deck, you are looking at 15-20 min continuous standing.

Otherwise, at dinnertime, there is oftena line to get in to the dining rooms, but if you arrive a bit early, you will avoid the lines for the most part.

Other than that, there isn't a whole lot of standing around on a cruise. This ship is pretty large though, so there is quite a bit of walking, depending on your cabin location.

Thanks so much for the input! Makes me feel more at ease to know what to expect. SOmetimes I can stand longer than others and I don't always know when my more difficult times will be.....
