    Default We're Going Back!!!

WOOHOO!!! My fiance and I just booked a family trip to Disneyland during the kids' spring break April 26th to May 1st! It will be in honor of Kid 2's 9th birthday. We took his sister to WDW for her 9th, and since he loves Legos, Cars, Star Wars & Indiana Jones Disneyland for his trip was a no-brainer

We are staying at the Fairfield Inn across the street. Planning on a 2 or 3 day pass (not sure yet, of course I'm pushing for 3 days) and we might trek down to Legoland on Saturday before our flight back to NY on Saturday night. It depends on what the birthday boy wants. We're so excited but the kids don't know yet, we are planning when and how to do the big reveal

What's it like in late April? What should we expect for crowds and weather? I was so surprised the kids' spring break here in the northeast was so late, but apparently the districts wanted to schedule it after all the state testing is done for the year. Does anyone else have break at this time? Any other tips and tricks to share?

    Thanks!!
    ~Nikki~

Wow, that is a late break! But, good for you as the crowds should be pretty low. Nothing special really goes on that time of year. There are quite a lot of things closed at DL though, and for the next 18 months so be prepared for walls and closed paths, especially around Frontierland.

I would STRONGLY advise against Legoland on a Saturday. Go during the week and you will have the place to yourselves. Go on Saturday and you will be tearing your hair out. There is no fastpass and the lines average 60min+ for almost every ride. They are all super slow loading/slow cycle rides. It is a great park, bit not on any Saturday. I would take DL on a Saturday over Legoland any time.

Thanks, Nat! The attractions at DL that are currently listed as being down due to the expansions, etc. aren't ones we'd likely be drawn to anyway, so that won't bother us. I am a little bummed Jungle Cruise will be closed (although we're there the week before the planned opening so perhaps there's hope for a soft opening), but we've done that at WDW.

I am not feeling a visit to Legoland at all, but it's the little dude's birthday so it's his choice. That considered, I might advocate for Legoland Friday and a couple hours in one of the Disney parks on Saturday or going up to Santa Monica and having some beach time and fun on the pier. This is what I love about DL- you don't need to plan 6 months in advance! I am loving that this is so stress-free!
