    Default Impala Fans?

I always come to you guys! Just started talking about changing vehicles. As the grandbabies grow, and our needs change slightly, we are thinking about trading in the Chevy Traverse, which I have not been happy with since I brought home. It runs fine, but the extra space I thought I was getting is not user friendly for me. I find it very hard to slide the second seats (especially when you have to first take the car seats out), and when somebody does crawl back into the third row, there is no comfortable room. I should have paid more attention to how all that worked....

So, my son has a Ford truck, and that has lots of room, and my husband is kind of wanting a Chevy truck (crew cabs)....I'd be up for either, but I have to have a step up! That was the problem with the last one I had. Too hard for me to haul infant seats up and ME. Knee and hip issues...

Was also thinking about the Chevy Impala.... Are they really low to get into? (Also hard on me.) I know we will go try them out eventually, but I was wondering what your opinions are? Are you happy with yours? I do a lot of running with my grandbabies, and want something four adults can be comfortable in, or possibly three adults and two children.....Your input would be much appreciated, friends!

I currently have a Malibu (2013) and love it. I have back issues and find it manageable. My lady friend has knee and hip issues and has no real issues with getting in and out of the car. She would prefer a vehicle that sat up higher though.

She just bought a 2010 Impala and she went from a Chrysler van to it. It is working out well for her.

I would suggest going to a car rental place and see if they have a new Impala and rent it for the weekend to see how it works out.

I have owned 3 equinox's the last being a 2011 and really like the room and ride.

    Hope this helps...

It does, and I appreciate your response! I had a Malibu at one time and found it a little low. That's what I traded in when my first grandbaby came along. I'm hoping the Impala might be just a tad higher...I did like my Equinox, but was in a wreck and then traded for the Traverse (thinking it would be more room, lol)...

While I am not sure about the Impala, the Buick line of vehicles has a 24 hour test drive. Since Buick is in the same GM "family" as the Chevy Impala, maybe they have something comparable.

I wish I had the 24 hour option when purchasing my past vehicles.....you really don't know if you like it until you drive it for longer than 15 minutes on a test drive.

My wife went to Impalas when she was done with minivans. She is currently on her 4th Impala, she loves them. Before the new model a friend of mine had a Dodge/Chrysler salesman tell him, "if you're looking for a sedan you should go buy an Impala"! Claimed they were the best full size value on the road!
    I drive a 2014 Chevy Siverado which I love!

Full disclosure, my father worked for Chevy/GM so it was ingrained in me to buy Chevys!

What a great option!!! I agree totally that a tiny test drive doesn't tell you much....

Thanks! I am really going to check them out! My DH is a Chevy man, plus he always says the trade-in will go better, Chevy to Chevy...I am willing to branch out, personally! My son has a ROOMY Ford pickup that looks good, too!

The Buick LaCrosse and Cadillac XTS are built on the same platform as the Impala (Epsilon II platform). Of course the Buick and Cadillac will both have upgraded interior options and probably more comfortable seats and possibly softer smoother riding suspension but overall they should feel and drive similarly. What I would do is test drive the Impala so you know how it feels and then go do the 24 hour test drive on a LaCrosse. Who knows, you may like the LaCrosse so much more you will pay the extra couple grand for the upgrades. That is why they are doing the 24 hour test drive so I would take them up on it.
