Is it better to park in the Mickey & friends or Toy Story lot?

I don't think you can call one better than another but some visitors may have preferences.

I prefer the Toy Story parking lot. Coming from the south I like the approach from and to the freeway. I have never been stuck in a line of cars inching along for a long time just to get to the ticket booth prior to parking as I have at Mickey & Friends. I have never had to hike to/from a far off parking spot as the TS lot is not as massive as M&F. I occasionally use Handicap Parking and find it MUCH more likely to find a spot that is actually convenient for someone with a disability at TS. I have had much better luck getting on and off the buses that service the TS lot in a timely manner than I have had with the shuttles that service the M&F lot, both coming and going.

Other people will have completely different opinions depending on where they are coming from, time of day they visit, past experience, etc. A couple of things to point out about Mickey & Friends is that once you get on the shuttle to/from Disneyland Resort it should be a quicker ride than the TS buses that travel a bit on city streets, since it is a parking structure your car will most likely be parked under cover, and there are bathrooms.

I do M&F if I arrive between 10am and 4pm. Otherwise, Toy Story it is.

thanks, we are staying closer to Toy Story lot, could we walk there and catch the bus to the entrance? We plan on opening and closing the parks so I am assuming Toy Story lot would be better?

Yes, you are allowed to walk in to the lot and catch the buses going to the Disneyland Resort.
