Default Kids Won't Like the Food

So tomorrow is my 180+ day and I was looking at the menus. My 10 year old and my barely 13 year old are going to hate the adult meal options at a couple of the places we are looking to book.

Do they ever allow the kids to still get kid's meal food even if they are aged over 9? For example if we can book Cinderella's table my kids would much prefer Chicken Nuggets to Season Gnocchi with Roasted Vegetables.

I'm sure in that example I'd have to book them as adults - but I'm more concerned about making them eat food they won't like.

Anyone ever run into this? Thanks in advance to any advice / knowledge.

With the exception of buffets, you can order off of the kids menu. I do it all the time and I am well over 9 years old . If you use the dining plan I think you need to order off of the adult menu.

Most places will give them an adult portion of a child meal if you ask nicely.

We aren't doing the Dining Plan currently because of exactly that - since my daughter and my middle son will still choose kid's meals most of the time we end up paying for too many adult meals.

Just returned from our trip yesterday, and I ordered Kids Meals at our resort and in the parks many times without a problem and I am an adult.

Not once was there a problem and the portions were a good size. Meals at our resort included a bag of grapes/apples, two cookies and a small drink (milk/applejuice/small water bottle)

I like getting the smaller meals because we tend to indulge in special treats throughout the day in the parks/resorts. Ice cream, popcorn, glazed nuts, Dole Whips, etc.

My boss' wife ate off the kids' menu whenever possible during their last trip. (Paid as an adult for buffets, ate chicken nuggets for most of the remainder of the trip.) The servers made her feel very comfortable about her food preferences.

Whenever a question like this comes up, I just think back to when we were planning our trip from this past January. My sister's family came with us, and they had 8-day Park Hoppers. MY family had APs. When we went to make our FP+ reservations, on that last day, I could make them for my sister's family, but not mine. I called Disney and they explained that AP holders could only make 7 days of FP+ ressies in a row. Once we used that first day, THEN we could make them for the last day. However, the problem then was that we couldn't possibly use the website/app to get the same attractions and times as my sister's family's FP+ for that day.

When I brought this up, the guy on the phone said, "Sir, we're Disney. Do you really think we won't make this happen? We want you to be happy. We don't want your vacation ruined. We'll take care of it. Trust me."

    And they did.

So, I have no doubt that your kids will be able to eat what they want. I can see them not letting kids (who have paid a lot less for the DDP) order from the adult entrees, but for the other way around, I don't think they have a problem.
