    Default Monorail Closure

For our upcoming trip (March 2-8) on our Hollywood Studios day (3/6) we are leaving the park about 5ish because we have ADR at Whispering Canyons for 645. I know the resort and express monorails will be not running from 11am-7pm and we can use them to return to MK after dinner (after boat ride back to the Contempory), but what about getting there? I know I could just drive to Wilderness Lodge but I was looking for any other suggestions.

I might be missing something here, but why not just take the WL bus from DHS?

Where are you staying? Driving is usually better, but you can only park WL for 3 hours. How long will you be at MK.

You can also take a boat from WL to MK, after your meal. Don't need the Contemporary or monorail.

You have a couple of choices:

If you're a driver (like us) drive to WL and then over to MK after dinner. If the monorail is running you can take it, or the ferry from the TTC to MK.

If you want to take Disney transport, the bus to WL and then the boat over to MK.

Either way, I don't think the monorail closure will impact you.

    And, the boat is fun!

We are staying at POP. Didnt reralize there was a boat from WL to MK. So then I am guessing since we want to go to MK after dinner (hoppers) that we should just park at MK and take boat to WL. Thanks Intercotees!!!!

Keep in mind you would be parking at the TTC not MK. Since the monorail would not be operating on your way to dinner you would ferry to MK and boat to WL.

NOT the way to do this if (like you mentioned), you're going to be at Studios during the day.

    You're starting out at POP.

Leave the driving up to Disney transportation specialists

Take the morning bus from POP to Studios.

Around 5-5:30ish (I always recommend an hour's travel time between resorts/parks/water parks), take a *BUS* from Studios to Wilderness Lodge (Whispering Canyon, by the way, at dinner, is LOADS of fun!).

After dinner, take the boat from WL to MK for your evening.

Then, after you're done at MK, take the bus back to POP.

    This.

Except perhaps an earlier bus so you can look around WL. Take an elevator up to the top floor to look at the wood carvings. The fireplace stones. Sit in a rocker near the spring. Have a photo with the totem pole near the store.

I don't mean to de"rail" this thread, but can I assume the monorails are running in the mornings till 11:00? Would like to have breakfast at GF, then head over to Epcot...First of all, I believe I've gotten a bus from my resort (CBR, this time) to GF before in the past for morning reservations? It's been awhile and I don't really remember how that worked. Do we have to ask at the resort to request?

After a cup of coffee, I think I'm answering part of my own question, here, lol. Maybe we took a bus to MK, then rode monorail to GF?... Which I guess still means I need to know if they'll be running in the morning, and how early.

And I don't think there is a boat from TTC to WL.

But there is a bus from MK to WL.

Since buses don't go from resort to resort, you'd get an MK bus and than at MK either use the launch, if it's running or the monorail, if it's running. Here's a number I call when on property to find out how to get around: 407 WDW RIDE. I have gotten the most accurate transportation info from the folks at this number.

We enjoy the small launch to GF from MK but used a taxi once from POR to GF when the radar was full of red/orange/yellow cells. Paid $12 in 2012.
