Default Help me to understand Fastpass+

We are set to return to the World first week of November. I have my bands customized and Fastpass linked. I understand that much. So once testing is over they are going to remove the old FP machines? So I will only be able to get 3 Fastpass per day? Once this rolls out I will not be able to get FP at the park? I am a AP holder so this will probably stop me from getting AP's in the future. We sometimes make a quick decision to go. So now I will not be able to eat at the good restaurant or ride the E ticket rides. . Also we love the AP's so we can park hop. If we can only get FP at one park then why pay extra money for these tickets. I'm fine with only being able to book one park per day but just wish I would still have option when I arrive at the other park to get a FP and ride a few things.

Not an expert on this but I'll give it a go.

From what I have heard the number of fastpass+ available per day is still to be confirmed for the future, though they are testing with 3. It will be possible to book fastpass+ in the park, however as it is possible to book in advance these will be subject to availability. These on-the-day fastpass+ will count towards your quota for the day.

Not sure there is anything official on whether you will be able to split your fastpass+ between different parks on the same day.

This is my concern as well. We are AP holders. Sometimes we're not even sure if we're going until a day before.

Also, since we pay so much for APs, we never stay on site. For testing, you have to be staying at certain resorts. I wonder if its going to remain that way once testing is over. I'm hoping they think of something for AP holders. We may not renew next year.

From what I've read and understand so far, it seems that AP holders will be able to use the Fastpass+ system the same way as all the other guests. You'll be able to choose your FPs as far as 60 days out, 3 per day, at one park only per day.

In theory, the new system won't disadvantage AP holders any more than anyone else. In practice, though, what it sounds like it will do is disadvantage people who take more spontaneous trips, which defines a lot of AP holders. Depending on how many people use FP+, it's predicted that most if not all of the FPs for the most popular rides will be snapped up at 60 days. Of course that all depends on the number of people who plan to be at a particular park that day.

What I wish/hope they would/will do is hold back a certain number of FPs for "day of" distribution for the most popular and longest-lined attractions. But I haven't seen a hint that they'll do this.

And then again, the standard motto around here for the whole FP+ system is: "No one knows for sure."
