    Default Magic band question...

Can someone tell me if magic bands once fully implemented along with fast pass plus will be only available to Disney resort guests?
If so will the older fast pass options be available to guests staying off property?

I suspect bands will be available for everyone regardless of where folks are staying - the new technology holds a lot of information and should be able to identify whether you are a resort guest or parks only guest.

Offsite guests will be able to use fastpass plus - just like dining - I would suspect there will be a different set of rules for those not styaing on site.

Curious.. Are these bands waterproof. Will you be able to swim with them ( in either the pools or the thunderstorm downpours :-) )

Not sure if this is on the TOS yet or not, but it has been pointed out that FP+ will be like ADRs, where onsite guests get that 10 day head start.. So you can book FP+ 60 days out, plus 10 days, just like ADRs are 180 days plus 10... Not sure if Disney confirmed this or not though...

I could be wrong, but I think the bands are resort guests only. They have modified the day park passes so that they have a chip encoded in them now that works at the magic band readers.
Too many trips to keep track of now! Vacation WDW twice a year so any questions ask freely ☺️

That's what I thought as well. The park ticket will have an RFID chip that will link with the system to retrieve FP+ info.
