    Default Cabs to Store

Has anyone ever used a cab to go to grocery store to pick up stuff for the room and then back to the resort?? Is it expensive?? Would it be better to get one from Downtown Disney?? We'll be using Magical Express to get to the resort but would like to get some drinks and snacks for the room.

How about using Intercot Sponsor Strollers & Groceries to deliver the items you need?

Honestly, I would just bite the bullet and buy the things I wanted at the resort store. The cost of the cab would reduce the savings you might get at the grocery store. The closest store to WDW, I won't name it since I don't want to plug any stores, is so much more expensive than any other store out there.

But if you did do it from DTD that would reduce the cost of the cab to the store, but since you would probably want to take the cab back to your resort it won't save you that much. Not to mention the time spent getting your stuff.

I see that Faline, just added,

Really this might be your best option.

It's a minimum order of $40 for the delivery and I'm not looking to spend that much. Soda, water, snacks...

I usually get the refillable mug at resort but sometimes it's nice to have drinks in the room instead of running back and forth to food court.

If you are not planning on spending much, then using the resort store should be your best option.

Another thought, is while at DTD there is a Hess gas station across the street. You can run in there and get drinks and snacks. We have done this when we stayed at the Boardwalk, there is a Hess station right outside the resort. The prices were better than the resort store.

When not using a rental car, we bus to DTD and use the Hess Station across from DTD as well for drinks and some snacks. We have also walked to Gooding's from DTD. Of course, keep in mind, if you buy very much you will have to carry it all back to DTD (it's one mile or a 15-20 minute walk) or return in a cab.. In a seven day trip we may walk down there a couple of times for a better selection.
I'm not bad. I'm just drawn that way.

I would either use the resort store (saving time and effort, even though cost is increased) or take a trip to DTD and stock up at the Hess Station across the street.

One note on the resort store, check out the grab and go coolers in the food court as well, and remember to compare things like the cost of an entire gallon of milk vs. a small single serve every day. The coolers at AoA also carried cases of bottled water, and the price was ridiculous for a case of water, but it was sooo much cheaper than buying them out in the parks.

Take the bus to DTD and walk to the Hess or Goodings for snacks. It would recommend also bringing a back pack (empty) to help carry things back. It’s a nice walk to the store and I would save you on spending $$$ at the resort.
Been there, done that and going back!!! See ya real soon !!!
