Default End Zone Food Court Closed 8-4 thru 12/20?

I have read that the food court at the All Star Sports (End Zone) will be closed for refurb. Aug. 4 thru December 20, 2013 is that true?

I checked Disney's site and there was no mention of it.

Buses will drop off and pick up guests from the Sports wanting to purchase hot food from either the Movie or Music resorts.

We will be staying during that time. Is this true?

Looks like it will close on August 5. The information is on the site but doesn't specify how long it will be closed.

Pardon Us While We Take a Time-Out
The End Zone Food Court will be refurbished beginning August 5, 2013, but you can still sack your hunger at the Game Point Arcade with grab-and-go meals, including sandwiches, salads and bakery goods.

And for appetites that need a little more action, transportation will be provided so that you can take on an entire line-up of favorite foods in the Intermission Food Court at Disney’s All-Star Music Resort and the World Premiere Food Court at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort. Score!

If you request one of the buildings closest to the parking lot between Sports and Music (Homerun buildings), it's not a far walk at all to the Music food court. When we stay at the Mighty Ducks building in Movies, we often walk over to Music as it seems that we're actually closer to the Music food court than the Movies one.

I have seen this in multiple locations, so I'm guessing it's true

As the PP poster mentioned, you can get a room in All Star Sports and conceivably be closer to the All Star Music food court than your own anyway. The resorts are one right next to the other so you can walk from one side of one to the opposite end of the last one in a relatively short time frame. I used to do it all the time.

I usually only eat breakfast at the resort, but I am curious how this will affect the crowds at Music & Movies. (Staying at Movies in September.) During peak times the AS food courts could get VERY packed.

    Cool Sports Food Court Closed.

When we made our decision on which Allstar Resort for October, the Disney Host helping with our reservation passed on to us that only Grab n Go would be available at Sports Food Court due to renovations. We chose Music.

My goodness, that's a LOOOOOOOOOOOONG refurbishment, can't help but think they should just refurbish one counter at a time, or at least half of the food court at a time. They must completely changing everything. But they're overlapping the end of the busy summer season with the beginning of the holiday rush, not to mention Thanksgiving. I stayed at ASS in September 2011, well after labor day (I believe the hotel was booked solid) and I cringe to even think about what the food court would have been like had it not been open at full capacity. I must say I feel sorry for the people at both Sports and Music during this time. I doubt Movies will be bad, I think most people will just walkover to music.
Though truth be told, if you have a car McDonald's is right there, and I guess if you know about the closures, just grab something at the park on your way in or out, it's no secret that the Main Street USA shops/restaurants have "extended hours" both before and after that park opens, maybe it's the same at all the other parks.

    Default End Zone Closure

Margaret, you will have to let us know how this food court issue works out for you, as you are going in September. We too will be staying at one of the All Star resorts in November 2013.

Maybe it won't be so bad, and we will probably take the "eat in the parks" suggestion and have a magical vacation.

I didn't even think about it, but another PP was probably right, that it will affect Music more than Movies. But I will surely share my experience.

We generally do only eat breakfast at the resort, or maybe a light evening snack, so we might be ok.

We will be at Music in August. Hope there is not much impact. My wife also wondered how bus service to the parks would be affected if people eat before or after going to the parks.

I am going in mid-August and staying at All Star Music, does this mean my food court will be crowded with guests from All Star Sports?

It will probably be more crowded than usual, at least at the peak times.
