Question Crowds between Christmas and New Years?

How are the crowds between Christmas Day and New Year? Thinking of booking a last minute trip Dec 26-29th. We have been early in Dec but never between the Holidays. What should I expect? Please help! I so want to go for Christmastime in Disney. DD doesn't return home until the 19th. I have from Dec 24 - Jan 1st off at work. I could use some of my vacation days (and my 30% off of room since I have a pin code) for Jan 2 - 6th. But park hours will be reduced, the Christmas parade and maybe other things will be gone and Splash Mountain will be closed for refurb.

We are planning a trip in March for DD's spring break.

Just not sure what to do???

Have never even that time of the year but I am sure the crowds are HUGE! I'd assume maybe the busiest week of the year? I'm sure others can chime in with more details, but I'd think it would be hard to move around during that week.

Biggest crowds of year. High probability of intermittent park closings daily. But especially Christmas day and new years eve. If you are a disney regular anddont feel a need to see and do everything, then it can be fun. But if its a rare or once in a lifetime trip, pick another time to go.

We always stay at the Fort Wilderness cabins the 27th through January 5th and the crowds are big, but if you still on property and take advantage of extra magic hours you can get all your favorites done. During the super busy times you can explore the resorts and see all the decorations

Parks are known to fill to capacity and close to incoming guests for parts of that time frame. It is extremely busy!

The crowds in the parks are INSANE that time of year. We go the week before christmas and it's pretty dead up until like the 20th or 21st. However if you just want to relax at the hotel or something it's a good time to go but I would stick to going to the parks during Magic Hours. Also I would consider a rental car buses are beyond packed.

A website I susbscribe to has a crowd calendar for every day of the year with rankings from 1 to 10. From Dec. 22-31, every day is a 10, so people going during that time frame should expect monster crowds.

This is probably the best advise if I want to do it. I think it would work for us since I really want to see the decorations, gingerbread houses, etc at the deluxe resorts. I think we could go for park openings and stay for EMH's at night since my DD and I am night owls and it looks like they go from 1am - 3am which would be a lot of fun for us. I think we would stay away from parks from mid-day until dinner time. My DD has an iphone so we would just make sure to have a couple of good disney apps to watch for park closings, and ride times. Any good suggestions on Apps? I think she has a couple...not sure which ones though.

Any other suggestions to make this as easy a possible? We are going back for Spring break and summer...so we don't need to hit every ride. I just would like to take in the Christmas atmosphere. Booking this weekend once our plans are settled. We will just do ASSport or Music (since we haven't visited those yet). And then for Spring break stay at AofA or CBR since we haven't stayed at either of those either.

    Getting Excited...
