    Default Boardwalk Villa questions

We've got a 2 bedroom booked at Boardwark for next February. I think I read somewhere that there are no dedicated 2 bedrooms at Boardwalk?

Also, DH is 76, and thanks to his new knees, finds walking more enjoyable now. Still, I'm thinking we would want to be as near to the elevators as possible. What's a good request to avoid a long hallway at the end of the day?

    Thanks

Correct. The one bedroom and studio is combined to make a two bedroom.

As far as room requests I do not remember any specific room numbers we have had, sorry!

We'll be staying there in November. I'll try to scout it out as far as what rooms are near the elevator. Last time we stayed there we were right above the general store and it was a lot easier to use the exit door than the elevator.

We will be there in a few weeks and have a 2br and my DH has knee problems and I always request a room close to the elevator. Sometimes we don't get as close as I would like but have never been at the end of a lonnnnnnng hallway.

Thanks to you all for your replies. We've had two bedrooms on two previous trips but they were dedicated. Now we'll discover what the other kind are like.

I'll request close to the elevators and see what happens.

In my experience room requests are pretty much a waste of time. I've requested upper floors and away from elevators, and been placed on the bottom right next to elevator. Just as often, without a request, I've been placed on the top floor at the end of the hall.

Good thing about the far end of the building at BWV is it's close to the parking lot and close to DHS (we prefer to walk).

Sounds like others have had better luck, so it can't hurt to ask, but I would not get my hopes up if I were you.

This past trip in January we made a room request on arrival, while the room wasn't available right then they still accommodated us and then sent us a text message when it was ready. We didn't mind because we had a million things to do anyway so we went to Epcot got our TiW card, upgraded our passes rode a couple rides, ate lunch walked around poked around in the shops, and by that time our room was ready. Worked out great.

At BWV there is always another door somewhere close to your room. One time we were as far as can be from the elevators. Right near our room was an exit. Went down the steps and bam I was practicaly on the boardwalk.

That is assuming everyone in your party can manage stairs. On our last trip we were on the top floor right below the "crest of the wave." It was a great location except when you are at the end of the hall it's a trek to the elevator. There was a stairwell at our end of the hall, but with an ECV and a stroller in our party that was not an option. Given the op's situation with her husband's knee I would go ahead and request to be near an elevator.

We like to pick our room at BWV, so we do not use the Advance Check In. When we get to the desk we state our preference. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't.
