Question Wishes From Poly Beach Tips

I plan on heading to the Poly beach after Spirit of Aloha on 4/28 to watch Wishes. I plan on checking out the Electrical Water Pageant at 9 and then Wishes at 10.

Does anyone have any tips? I've never done this before. I'm open to your suggestions. Favorite spots? Anything I didn't think of?

Main beach by the pool is the one with the piped-in music. The other beach closer to the TTC didn't have music last July but it also didn't have any other people there.

Agree with Kathy. Get close to the main pool where the pool area meets the beach. Get there early enough to get a seat. We have always enjoyed the view from the beach but nothing beats eating at Ohana with a window seat as the lights dim and the music comes up for Wishes. We managed to time it perfect on our trip in January!

The best place for sound is in front of the Hawaii building on the main beach. New pot speakers were installed there in 2010. The trick is to not move close to the lagoon but stay near the path on the beach side. Close to the lagoon does not improve the view but certainly ruins the music.

How early is "early enough." Will 9 be fine for the water pageant and then just stay there for the hour until Wishes or should I get there even earlier than that?

I can't tell you how early is early enough to get a seat. We just kinda wandered in at the last minute in July. We stood at the back, where the sidewalk meets the beach (and where the speakers are anyway). We also watched from the pool one night while the kiddos were swimming.

Chairs always seem hard to find... so you may want to bring a beach towel. We usually just sit on the curb where the sidewalk meets the sand and eat Dole Whips. In 2010 my DH and I left the room early, went down to the bar area near the pool, ordered a couple drinks and by the time we were done, the fireworks started.
