    Mar. 23, 1992 – The “Harrington Bay Clothiers” shop opened in Downtown Disney Marketplace at WDW. (Closed July 15, 2001)
    Mar. 23, 1996 – The Walt Disney Company and McDonald’s Corp. signed a 10 year multi-national promotional alliance, set to begin in Jan. 1997.
    Mar. 23, 1998 – At the 1997 Academy Awards, Don Iwerks (co-founder of Iwerks Entertainment) was given the Gordon E. Sawyer Award for accomplishments in the field of motion picture science and technology. Iwerks, who in his early years worked for Disney, and was the son of legendary Disney animator Ub Iwerks.
    Mar. 23, 1999 – Elton John and Tim Rice’s “Aida,” a concept album that contains songs which will be used for the Broadway production of “Aida,” was released on Island Records. The album features Elton John performing the songs along with such pop stars as Sting, LeAnn Rhimes, Tina Turner, Angelique Kidjo, Spice Girls, Janet Jackson, Boyz to Men, Shania Twain, Lenny Kravitz, James Taylor, and Lulu. (Elton john and Tim Rice’s Aida: Original Broadway Cast Recording, a conventional original cast recording of the Broadway production would be released in 2000.)
    Mar. 23, 2000 – Disney’s stage show “Aida” opened at Palace Theater in New York City. (Ended on Sept. 5, 2004)
    Mar. 23, 2000 – The Disney half-hour comedy series “Daddio” began airing on NBC-TV. (Ended Oct. 13, 2000)
    Mar. 23, 2001 – The Lizzie McGuire episode “Aaron Carter’s Coming to Town” aired on the Disney Channel.
    Mar. 23, 2003 – The “Main Street Electrical Parade” gave its last performance at Disneyland Paris.
    Mar. 23, 2003 – The Main Street Electrical Parade gave its last performance at Disneyland Paris.
    Mar. 23, 2003 – An animated 3D Mickey Mouse presented the Best Animated Short Oscar at the 75th Annual Academy Awards, and Disney’s “Spirited Away” was awarded Best Animated Feature.
