Default Liberty Tree Tavern? Yes or No?

In all of our trips, we've never eaten there. We are fans of the "meat and potato" meals (no fancy foodie food for us!). I've made us our first ADR for this for our next trip, but am waffling a bit. Is it worth it? Food decent? We try NEVER to go to MK in the evenings, so it would be a bit of a different schedule for us, but if the food is good, we'll make an exception. What do you all think?

"It's snowing still," said Eeyore gloomily.
    "So it is."
    "And freezing."
    "Is it?"
"Yes," said Eeyore. "However," he said, brightening up a little, "we haven't had an earthquake lately."

Both my DW and I enjoy the Tavern and you wont go home hungry. The food is good but we do miss the characters.

Its a must for us when we attend MNSSHP.

Try the Yankee Pot Roast. It is so good and perfect for a meat and potato person!

We went twice the one trip but that was because we had extra credits and wanted to use them up before we lost them and this was open for a time frame we needed. I really really enjoy the food.

They call it the "New England Pot Roast" now and it is only available at lunch. It is very good. Unfortunately it is not available for the dinner service. This is a copy and paste of the dinner offerings:

    Patriot’s Platter
Roasted Turkey Breast, Carved Beef, and Smoked Ham with Mashed Potatoes, seasonal Vegetables, Herb Bread Stuffing, and Macaroni & Cheese

I ate there once and haven't gone back. Was not thrilled with the food. Many others I know don't like it either. I'd go to Crystal Palace instead.

We ate there once in 2005. As I recall, it was decent but just basic dishes nothing special. May be just the thing for a meat and potatoes type of person though

The food is NOT so good. If you are used to good potatoes, not for you. These are off brand boxed, mac and cheese was bland dry, worse than box mixes. The meat is dry, thin, This is our opinion but when you are from Texas we know good food. This was the biggest let down of all our eats in 2010. I would try Tonys. Their steak looks good and have been told on another board that it was really good.

We ate there for dinner. It was nice. The food was decent and plentiful, the decor was nice. The location was perfect. We would do it again.

I agree that this restaurant is just so-so. The food seems to be all fake and none of it is fresh. It tastes processed to me. I used to like this sort of thing, a few years ago, but after I started eating better and leaning towards organic, fresh, and going towards the signature meals I almost cannot eat things that arent freshly prepared anymore and potatoes, forget those. I am a homemade potato maker, at home, and my entire family can call a potato flake from miles away. We probably wont ever eat here again just because there are so many better options. It might have continued to entice us, had they continued to have characters though.

I believe this restaurant is sponsored by Stouffer's and what you're served as far as the mac and cheese and potatoes would be Stouffer's foods, which is not off brand or boxed, but premade and frozen/reheated, but also not what I want in a restaurant's offerings. Unless this has changed in the past years.

I really don't know who makes the food, but we have eaten there several times, on the DDP and OOP. While not great, the food is decent and plentiful. We will most likely be back there on next years trip.

Hmmm, so all in all, a resounding "EHHH".

Well, we have enough time to try and switch it up a bit. We really don't care for evenings at MK, and finish off most every evening at Epcot, so maybe I'll go for another Epcot eatery.

I'm sure it wouldn't be bad food, but if it really is a Stouffers sponsored meal, and most of the food is Stouffers brands, we probably would not care much for it then. We may not be "foodies", but we are "home-made-ies"!

Thank you so much everyone, for your swift and honest replies!

All the Epcot restaurants are great for our family. I remember the LTT giving us belly aches the last trip and thats no fun in wdw. If you havent yet, maybe try Akershus. I think they are widely overlooked.

Then try something else really. Its the worst food along with Trails End.Very boxey food. Beyond boxey. We do not eat food meals like Ham Helper, mac and cheese and especially those col tasteless pasty potatoes. Just awful.. Go eat at Teppons. Somewhere in Epcot.. Just not LTT with or without characters,if the food is no good then there are plenty of other places with characters like Tusker that has the same Mickey Minnie Goofey Pluto..

Interesting range of reviews. My experience was the food was about a B-. Better choices at the Monorail resorts (like Grand Floridian Cafe @ GF and Kona Cafe @ Poly). Everyone's taste is different.

I find there to be a big difference in the food served at lunch and that served at dinner. The latter does remind me of being at a big banquet where everything is pulled off of huge steamtables.

But lunch is another story! As far as I'm concerned, LTT is another WDW sleeper. Would most definitely go back!
