Default Mickey's Toontown Fair to Close February 11, 2011

Reading on the net today that the last day of operation for Mickey's Toontown Fair will be February 11, 2011.

Mickey, Minnie and the Princesses will begin appearances soon after at Exposition Hall.

Tinkerbell meet 'n greet will move to Hollywood Studios and the remaining fairies will make appearances at Epcot tied to the Flower & Garden Festival.

Railroad will remain operational, but Toontown stop will be closed.

Pictures of the final operating day can be found here:

Character Cast have reported that the official start date for the Mickey Mouse/Minnie Mouse, Disney Princess, Tinker Bell, and Disney Fairies Meet & Greet locations is "Spring 2011".

Character Cast have reported that the Disney Fairies Meet & Greet may last longer than the Epcot Garden & Flower Festival, but this has not been confirmed.

Cast have also reported that Mickey, Minnie, and the Princesses will have temporary Meet & Greet locations at the Magic Kingdom starting February 12 until the semi-permanent location in Exposition Hall opens in the Spring.

Oh no, my youngest was hoping for one last trip through Mickey and Minnie's houses in March. Oh well, glad we took the time to see them both in June and in Oct. Any word on if the houses will ever find a new home somewhere on property?

WAHOO! February 11th is my first day at the MK so we'll definitely take lots of photos on Toontown's last day. As excited as I am to see the changes, it's always sad to see something go.

Now all we need is Adventureland and Tomorrowland updated and the Magic Kingdom will be perfect. 2030 should be a good year

I can finally stop holding my breath! We're going at the end of January and were really hoping for one last visit in Toontown (even though we said goodbye during our last trip!) Yay!

Finally - a bit of good luck. I had moved my trip back a week so that we could all experience Spash Mountain. My fear was that by moving the trip for that ride, they'd close Toon Town the first of Feb and we'd miss the kid's favorite ride, Goofy's Barnstormer. Now we'll be able to hit it all right before they close it up. Whew! That was a close one.

Can't say that I will miss toontown all that much...our kids are long past the age of its target audience, but we will for sure do a farewell tour in early january and take alot of pics...always fun to have pictures of the way it used to be "in the good old days" to compare with the way it is after big changes have been made.
There's a great big beautiful tomorrow

Just read this post to my husband and our youngest over heard us. He started crying his little eyes out! He is so sad that toontown will be gone. We tried explaining that there will be new things to see but he wouldn't hear of it. He is so sad and its breaking his little heart! Oh well glad we got plenty of pictures and video last time we were there.

Tink is moving to the Studios in Feb. A little birdie told me that guest will be able to meet with her in the Journey into Narnia building.
I'm not bad. I'm just drawn that way.

Fortunately our kids never developed much fondness for Toontown (probably because we rarely took them there), so I doubt they'll miss it much.

I do have to say, though, that I'm still pretty underwhelmed by what's going to be replacing it. I'm really looking forward to hearing some more "meat" in terms of details and what's actually going to be included in this expansion of Fantasyland.

Right now all that's confirmed is a new Little Mermaid dark ride (which is cool) and then it's like a restaurant, a couple meet and greets, and a second Dumbo. That doesn't seem like much of a replacement.
