Apr. 6, 1931 – Disney’s Mickey Mouse cartoon “The Castaway” was released
Apr. 6, 1947 – Actor John Ratzenberger, the voice of Yeti in Disney’s 2001 “Monsters, Inc.”, and Hamm the Piggy Bank in both Toy Story films, was born in Bridgeport, Ct.
Apr. 6, 1959 – Disney won 3 Academy Awards, one for the film “Grand Canyon” (Short Subjects, Live Action Subjects), one for “AMA Girls” (Short Subjects, Documentary), and one for “White Wilderness” (Features, Documentary).
Apr. 6, 1960 – Disney’s People and Places featurette film “Japan” was released.
Apr. 6, 1971 – The cover of LOOK magazine featured Mickey Mouse, the “First Citizen of Florida”. An article reported about the near completion of WDW.
Apr. 6, 1975 – Damon Pampolina, a member of the 90’s TV show “The All New Mickey Mouse Club”, was born in Texas.
Apr. 6, 1975 – Actor Zach Braff, the voice of “Chicken Little,” was born in South Orange, N.J. (TV fans will recognize him as Dr. John “J.D.” Dorian from the hit series Scrubs.)
