Nicest pool off site?

We've booked the Candy Cane, but now I'm looking at the Howard Johnson. A decent pool is important to us, and the HoJo definitely LOOKS like it has a much nicer pool. Overall, which of the two is better in all ways? or is there another one I haven't discovered that has a nice pool area?

To be honest most of the hotels around the DLR have your basic rectangular hotel pool ... the biggest and most SoCal pool is at the Anaheim Plaza Hotel and Suites. See THIS thread for more. I stayed here, its great and I loved the gargantuan old-school huge pool ... and its a 10 minute walk to the front gates.

The Howard Johnsons has a pirate themed pool area. They are located just north of the Fairfield on Harbour.
