My Big Surprise....

I am planning on surprising my two boys....I am going to send them on a hunt...throughout our house that will then lead them to a huge box that will have a mylar balloon attached to a sign that says...Surprise we are going to Disney today!!!! There will also be new Mickey T's for both of them in the box along with new Disney pjs. The box will have the following poem attached before they open it....found it online and added the last part....let me know what you think....

Our Two Special Little Boys…
God made a world out of his dreams,
Of wondrous mountains, oceans and streams,
Prairies and plains and wooded land,
Then paused and thought,
"I need someone to stand on top of the mountains
To conquer the seas, explore the plains and
Climb the trees, someone to start small and grow,
Sturdy, strong like a tree." and so...
He created boys, full of spirit and fun,
To explore and conquer, to romp and run,
With dirty faces, banged up chins
With courageous hearts and boyish grins.
When He had completed the task He'd begun,
He surely said, "That's a job well done.”
Daddy and I have truly been blessed
With two wonderful boys…you are both the best!
As much as we love you, God loves you even more
We hope you are excited about the surprise we have in store!
We pray as you grow older you will always remember this special treat
And keep God in the center of your lives always….you can never be beat!
An early birthday surprise for Geordy and a late one for Will
This gift we all will enjoy and it is magic that is real!
Now you can open the surprise…. You must do it together
We love you so much and we will….always and forever!

Great idea and poem! But beware....you may be starting a family tradition.....
In our many moves and travels, we got trapped into an annual family tradition that we are not allowed to stop!
One year, we took the kids to NE PA to visit both sets of Grandparents over the Christmas Holidays. Upon returning home on New Years eve, we discovered that we had not given the kids all of their presents....and a Piñata we had bought for New Years....DW hid the presents and wrote short puzzles describing where they were hidden. We stuffed the puzzles (one per child) into the Piñata, and had the kids break it. They then each solved their puzzles (with a little help), and found the extra presents. That was 35 years ago.....and the kids now have us do it with their kids every New Years Eve....Some years, they add puzzles for DW and I. Those kids and grandkids who can't make it home for New Years Eve do it at their homes.

So be prepared. With a little luck, and lots of prayers, you may need to write poems for special events for at least 35 years!
