    Shocking news. I am stunned.

    RIP, Michael.

Not a half hour before we heard the news, my DH said, you heard about Farah? After I said yes, he said "I wonder who the 3rd will be?" and then we hear this news.

    Sad week

I was so shocked to come home and DS tell me the news. Just can't believe it. So sad. He was a great entertainer.

I am so sad. I grew up listening to Michael's music - he wasn't much older than me. Such an entertainer and a talented dancer. I loved Captain EO. Rest in peace Michael.

DS and I said the same thing yesterday afternoon. This was a shock. Each generation has their own icons. Michael Jackson just happened to be a multi-generational icon which is rare. Growing up, I really enjoyed listening to his music. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and his children.

I'm still in shock of the news. I was 11 years old when Thriller came out and not only became a fan of the album but a fan of music in general. This was the most influential album of my life and MJ was the reason for it. He made great music and was an awesome performer.

    RIP Michael.

I remember doing my first dance recital in grade 4 & our teacher taught us the routine from Thriller to perform. He was an amazing talented man. A true icon.

RIP MJ. When I found out about this I called my Mom and we were both so upset. He was one of the only artists that we both liked when I was growing up, kind of music we could share. She said to me "it must feel to you like it felt to me when Elvis died". The same shock. I had always hoped that he would make a come back and produce more music. It is so sad to know that it will never happen.
My thoughts are also with his children.

Would be cool if Disney could somehow have special showings of Captian E.O. at maybe the HISTA attraction in a Tribute to M.J. (not Magical Journeys).

Considering MJ's unfortunate legal run-ins in the past Disney will be no where near the King of Pop. His image has been too tarnished.

I've been heartbroken over this since I heard about it. MJ has been my favorite artist since childhood. A lot of the local radio stations are having MJ tributes, and it reminds me of what a huge talent we have lost.

Interestingly, 6 of the top 10 (and 54 of the top 100) iTunes songs are by MJ. What a shock this has been to the world.

I took the time to look at some of his videos on Youtube and realized how much I had really grown up to his music. I remember staying up to watch the half hour premier of "Bad" as well as listening to the older Jackson 5 stuff on my dad's Motown albums. He was a bit unusual but that is what made him unique and one-of-a-kind. He was a very talented performer. I also think he cared about people and especially children. It is sad, that for most of this past decade, there were issues that kept him from bringing us his music. It would have been interesting to see him come back in London with some of his old music as well as new. Things like this make you realize how life is fragile and actually quite short. It is tough to think about.

    Talking Michael King of Pop

CNN has done fair and balanced reporting. Larry King had his closest friends on. Marko Brando (Marlon's Son) was very close to Michael and he nothing to say about Michael other than kind words. My Mom loved Michael as a youngster. Mom enjoyed all of his performances. May Michael RIP.
Keep smiling and Have a magical day!!!

We were in Disney World when we first heard of his death. Specifically, we were in Germany in the World Showcase and overheard a family saying "Is Michael Jackson dead or just in a coma?" I called my brother who answered the phone by saying "If you're calling to tell me that Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett are dead, I already know." We were really in shock. I can't really say I grew up on Michael Jackson per say, but in the past 5 or 6 years I've retro-actively become a big fan. While his death is sad, hopefully he has finally found his peace. He clearly has led a tortured life.
