Question Has anyone been to MNSSHP ON Halloween?

I am looking into a quick trip 10/30 to 11/2 for my daughters 18th birthday. Her birthday is ON Halloween. We will take advantage of the free day in the park for her birthday. Is the party crazy busy ON halloween? We have done the party last Sept so it is not a must for us but we are trying to decide whether to avoid MK on this day and pick a different park or just go and enjoy it because it IS halloween and her birthday! Also, my husband is curious how they make sure that everyone there paid for the party? if you dont ride the rides or trick or treat how do they know? I cant seem to remember from last year except that i think they had wrist bands?? Thanks

I have been to the MNSHP 6 times. Everytime we went to the park only for the party and not during the day. So I don't know how busy the park is prior to the party.

The time we went on Halloween was the most crowded we have ever seen fro a MNSHP. Personally we will not be going on the 31st again. The year we went on the 31st we went again on November 1st (I *THINK* they stopped having it in November since). My wife and youngest son didn't go becuase they didn't like the crowds on the 31st. The park was empty! Later in the night we didn't get off splash mountain. No one was waiting and they asked "do you want to go again"? We did that 6 times. I have a picture of us in the log with just the two of us.

That said it's not THAT crowded. My wife REALLY hates crowds. It was still fun for me and we got to go on the rides, play games, get our picture taken etc.

Yes they have wristbands, you will get a wrist band when you arrive.

We went last year , but it was late September. We went to the MK at 5:30 and they closed the park around 6:45 for the party. It was kind of busy but it really was'nt crazy. You have to watch the parade from Liberty Square...you'll see why!
As for the party, you have to have a separate admission ticket for the event and you are issued wristbands.

We also went last year in Sept and after much research it became clear that Oct 31st KM is not the place to be. It is as busy as it is allowed to be that night. If your OK with crowds (not as bad as summer in MK) then I am sure its a lot of fun, but I like the idea that the crowds are significantly lower during the party, so...

We did! We went on Halloween night a number of years back, myself and my 2 DD's who were then 6 and 15. Was it crowded? YES! However, even with the huge sold out crowds, there was never a wait on the rides. The fireworks show was just so-so, but the parade was a lot of fun (and we are NOT parade people). The kids had an absolute blast, and even the 6 year old said that she was so glad that she was trick or treating at Disney World and all of her friends at home had to wear parkas and boots over their halloween costumes and she didn't!

    It's SO worth it.

"It's snowing still," said Eeyore gloomily.
    "So it is."
    "And freezing."
    "Is it?"
"Yes," said Eeyore. "However," he said, brightening up a little, "we haven't had an earthquake lately."

CM's will "herd" or escort guests without wristbands toward the park entrance when the party begins at 7. There may be a few people who try to "hide" and stay in the park without getting on attractions (where they check for wristbands) but I don't think there are very many who get away with that. The CM's are all pretty observant about that.

Personally we think the "Hallowishes" fireworks show is one of the best that Disney offers. we love the special fireworks and music for that show. The parade is great, too. We have never been on Halloween night, but we have never seen a long wait on any of the attractions at MNSSHP, except maybe "Haunted Mansion". We usually go into MK at 4:00 with our MNSSHP passes and ride HM before 7 when the lines there get longer. we have usually walked right on at Space Mountain and Splash Mountain and others.

Can you get your writbands during the day? We are planning on bringing some young family members this year, have never been to the party. When we go to MK in the morning, can we get the wristbands then?
    Thanks
Your attention please, the Walt Disney World Railroad is now boarding for a trip around the Magic Kingdom

I know you can get wristbands if you are already in the park starting around 4pm. That is when they have CM's at several different places in the park giving them out to those who have party passes. They may let you get them even earlier at the City Hall, though.
