Lets go in March! Day ONE!!

We wake up and this was it! On our way to WDW to celebrate my daughter Khloe's 13th BD!! This is the very first time I actually slept the night before we leave, so I feel good for once, not like a zombie! I usually feel exhausted on travel day from being too excited to sleep the night before. The truck was packed the night before, we give the house a run thru, and off we go!! A quick stop at Dunkin donuts for coffees, bagels and munchkins and we are on our way to the airport. Love, love, love, that feeling.
Our flight was effortless. We landed 1/2 an hour earlier than planned! Perfect. We were the first stop for Magical Express and we have arrived! We are here! At the Polynesian!!
We initially booked LVC at the Poly..I downgraded one month before our arrival to GVC..the cost difference was significant, I felt in these crazy times it was best to be cautious with our money. And that cost difference sure buys a whole lot of Dole Whips! Well, DH was not happy I downgraded. His favorite part of WDW is the patio, the beach, the view, the boats, the water. We have always stayed LVC in the past. We decided to ask at check in if an upgrade was available and what the cost difference would be. The CM punched some keys in the computer and announced she upgraded us at no additional charge to LVC. Happy Birthday to my daughter is what she said!! She put us dead center, ground floor facing the castle. Pixie dust is wonderful!! We all savored our room, and got ready for a quick trip to MK before Ohana's. We took in Pirates for our traditional first day ride and the woman behind us was riding it for the first time and it was so exciting to hear her reaction to things. Next we took in the Jungle Cruise and the ride broke down in the middle of the ride!! A boat became disabled and we were all stuck. The skipper tried hard to entertain us for 30 mins of sitting there and she did a good job. We all got a fast pass for another ride in the MK to use during the week as we exited the ride. Can't beat that! Khloe and I snacked on Turkey Legs, and Steve, Katie and Kai had an egg roll to hold us over until Ohana's. Yum! We headed for the Haunted Mansion which was a walk on. It was time to head to Ohana's...time to end our brief time at MK. Sounds like a great first day!! I hardly ever sleep the night before a trip either! Luckily, when we went in Jan I did! It was soooo much nicer!!

Wooo Hoo for the upgrade!! I love all your pictures!!!! The view was beautiful!! I can't wait until John and I arrive at Poly on the 23rd!!!

What a fabulous start to your trip! Isn't it nice to actually be rested that first day?! Wonderful pics, too. Neat to see that the kids will still hold hands for that first picture!
