    Question Trip next month - GF/DF/IBS - questions/advice

So I am going to Disney World next month, first time w/ food allergies/intolerances. I've done a lot of research, and have a pretty good idea of what to do. I'm making all my reservations on monday, but had a couple questions.
Most people on a GF diet end up eating a lot of salads and potatoes when they go out to eat. First of all, how do I do the salad thing DF (I am SOOOO tired of italian dressing)? Second of all, I am intolerant to potatoes. What are some good alternative side dishes I can ask for/expect?
What is the best thing I can bring into the park w/ me?
I am also on an IBS diet...meaning low sugar/fat/red meat diet. How does this alter my options? I do enjoy the occasional sweets, and usually can handle them if I eat my fiber. What are the choices there for desserts?

    Thanks

    to Intercot!!!

The best thing you can do is let the CM know of your issues when you check in. Even better, call back and have them note it on all of your ADRs. If necessary, the chef will come out and discuss your specific issues and make recommendations on what you could/should eat. They are excellent at dealing with special dietary needs, so just let them know.

Try places like Yak & Yeti or Teppen Edo for some rice dishes or possibly rice noodles.

Try a balsamic vinegrette for salad dressings.
If you are able to eat goat's milk, try a goat cheese in place of regular cheese on your salads.

San Angel Inn would have corn tortilla's/ chips. Of course, that might irritate your IBS.

As previously stated, the chef will come to your table to discuss your allergies and offer suggestions for you.

If you have a sensitivity to wheat, be sure to talk with the chefs at Y&Y and Teppan Edo re: what kind of soy sauce they use. But no matter what, the CMs will do their best to accomodate your needs!

    Hi Sweetfudge,

We are going the last week of January and my husband has Celiac Sprue.

Go to the official Disney website and hunt around for guests with food allergies. You will find an e-mail address for a specialist who will send you a Guest Food Allergy form to complete. She also sent us a very helpful attachment regarding counter service restaurants.

Have a great time on your trip.
