We bought him , used him a little, put in the suitcase to fly back to England. Then he stopped working, figured that the x-ray machine killed him at customs. 1 year later he starts working again all by himself, SPOOKY!!

Mine too stopped working so I brought him with me a couple of weeks ago when we were there. They just gave me a new one. I'm glad I took care of the problem when I did. I don't find him annoying but definitely wouldn't carry him every day.
I just put him on a lanyard and he hung around my neck.

I bought Pal Mickey for myself... when I was 18...
And I thoroughly enjoyed him. I found him cute and entertaining. Not real "helpful" though. Will you still be able to get him updated even if he's not being sold anymore? I have version 1 and haven't updated in probably 2 years.

We loved having Pal Mickey with us and it's definitely something Conor treasures amongst his favorite Disney items. Our unfortunate experience of losing him was also our best CM experience ever! We never really found him annoying - we carried him on a lanyard when we wanted to interact with him, and stuffed him in a backpack when we didn't - no hassle at all!

We bought the Mickey last year and we were hoping to use him again when we go back in 2011. I have a feeling they won't be updating the servers used for Pal Mickey and eventually it will be just a fancy Mickey one owns.

Here's my thoughts on him, both positive and negative however overall I loved having him, and we didn't have kids, it was me and my DW and were 26 at the time. We just hung him on our backpack and if he got "tired", he went to sleep in it for a few hours too!!!

    Positive:
    1) Sometimes told you when parades and shows were going to start
    2) Told funny jokes
    3) was unique idea and I give Disney props on the concept

    Negative:
    1) Sometimes told you when parades and shows were going to start
    2) sometimes vibrated for no reason or to just tell a joke
    3) had to hold him to your ear to hear the comments half the time in the parks

This makes me so sad! I love my PAL Mickey! I bought him a few years ago and he is faithfully taken back every year.

We have a Pal Mickey. Although he wasn't always helpful we found him entertaining. He was never a hassle as he hung out on (or in) a back pack all day. His best use has been in my daycare, where he has been entertaining the children with his corny jokes for the last 3 years. They love him.
I'm not bad. I'm just drawn that way.

I just called WDW Merchandising to get Pal Mickey.... I was hoping to purchase one in December, while I was at the parks, but better safe than sorry. The cast member told me they were going fast, now that they're discontinued.

The cast member told me that all the outfits for Pal Mickey are now, gone!

I have to say I'm disappointed. I think they are a very unique gift item.

    Good riddance.

I have to agree with you. We bought one towards the beginning and hauled it around one day and that was enough. Most of the time could not hear it with all the noise around the parks. To this day I have no idea where it is.

Can't wait to see what Pal Mickey will go for on Ebay when they are all sold out.

I like the Nintendo DS idea but would be better if you use your own DS and rent the software. Would be cool to if use an Ipod touch the same way since it uses WiFi.

Exact same thing here-That is probably why they stopped letting them be rented.

i have my 3.0 (the sorcerer's apprentice version) Pal Mickey and he's quite the best purchase i have made @ WDW. and out of laughs, i even took him to Universal (i was inspired by both Flat Stanley and the Travelocity Gnome btw) and had him in several photos. he even was part of the reason why i got some great scares during Halloween Horror Nights.

Default Pal Mickeys are all gone!!

I called Disney last week when I saw that they were going to stop selling the Pal Mickeys. I got 5 for all the kids in the group that are going with us. I got an email from them saying that their stock was depleted. Good thing I got them last week. It is my daughters 1st time at DW (she is 3) and I wanted her to have one.

I'm really glad that I got my Pal Mickey last month on eBay, but I'm sort of sad they're discontinuing him. I haven't even gotten to use mine in the parks yet, but I've enjoyed playing with him.
