    It looks kinda gaudy to me... It also looks way too much like Buzz Lightyear. Same concept, same cars, same queue (except instead of Buzz you've got Mr. Potatohead), same fastpass machines... but all themed differently. I'm sure it will be a hit, and I'm glad to have it, but for the next ride can't we have something different the next time around?

    Oh boy, Midway Games! Imagineering is really cooking now.

    Gotta love the dufus sitting on the railing of the brand new, not open to the public yet, attraction.

    Default Toy Story Mania Review

    So I went to the sneak peak of Toy Story Mania yesterday.

    As many of you might have noticed (or not), I thought it sounded kinda stupid and repetitive.

    Here's my thoughts on it afterwards, without revealing too much but just in case -

    {**Potential Spoiler**:Highlight area below to read}
    Mr. Potatohead - He's awesome. He's actually very interactive and can do things like pulling out his ear and putting it back in, he'll sing if you ask him to (from what I noticed), he asks you things and will respond to them (not like Turtle Talk).

    The queue - Long. There are stairs. Cool visuals, found some Hidden Mickeys already.

    The ride - DUAL LOADING! Memories of Mr. Toad. Two attached cars with 4 people in each car back to back (sorta like Men in Black) for a total of 8 people. Not continous loading.

    The gun - Not rapid fire. Prepare for sore arms after playing. You pull a rope to fire, each pull firing a shot. I predict high maintenence for this ride - they look easy to pull out. The good news is you don't have to pull all the way for it to fire. A partial pull (1/2 way) will register.

    {**Potential Spoiler**:Highlight area below to read}
    You pull up to a screen and you aim at the targets on the screen. You car will rotate you in the right direction. I think you get 30 seconds per screen and there are I think 5 screens total. Each one is a different type of target, and if you hit special targets, things will fly back at you (that's why you need 3-D glasses). The more points you get, the better your "prize."

    So as much as it pains me to say this.....I liked it. Possibly more than Buzz. I need to see it without all the glitches to give a final grade. The pulling on the rope is what annoyed me the most because about halfway through, my right arm was getting really tired.

    I think I could - there is one in the queue line past Mr. Potatohead. It's on the wall, near the bottom, where there are Andy's drawings on the wall. There is also one inside the loading bay, one the wall before you enter/exit. Although it's really not hidden at all. In fact, it's kinda obvious. Really.

    I'm trying to avoid giving too many details about the queue area other than toys...lots of toys. Think Once Upon a Toy. Like that.

    Thanks so much for the review!! I am so looking forward to giving this attraction a try!! A total bonus for it to be done in time for our return. I wasn't sure how many new attractions that there would be since our last visit in '06, but it looks like there will be a few good ones, so that is awesome!!
