    Default Free Dining????

I know as a DVC member we get to purchase the DDP, but do we also get to take advantage of the Free Dining?

No we do not get to participate in "free dining."

This topic has come up numerous times, and as a DVC member you can purchase the DDP, but you do not get it for free.

Sorry to disappoint - DVC offers many other great perks, however!

The 'free dining' offered is a package deal. In order to participate you have to book a "Magic Your Way" package which including passes and accommodations.

(BTW - it's not really free. Guests are paying rack rate for the room. Give me a 2-Bedroom villa with points any day.)

Carol's right ... "free" dining is a bit of a misnomer. You might not be paying for most of your meals while you're there, but paying rack rates for a Disney hotel room? Ouch!

Plus, you have to buy park passes, too, which are pretty much worthless since we have AP's.

I've done the math and it's still cheaper for us to go using our points and pay for the dining plan as compared to paying rack rates and getting free dining.
