Default Scotland, And Other 2013 Epcot Food & Wine Festival News

    From Disney Parks Blog:

    Scotland, the Newest Marketplace for
2013 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival

Our team of chefs and beverage experts are cranking up fast for the 2013 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, with food, wine, beers and cocktails taking center stage around the World Showcase Promenade and all across Walt Disney World Resort.

Look for classic Scottish dishes that are still in the development phase, but the cocktail of choice will be a Rusty Nail, a popular Scotch whisky martini that is simply Scotch and Drambuie. Scotland is just one of more than 25 ethnic and specialized marketplaces – and we’re happy that Brazil returns this year, a crowd favorite that was missing in 2012.

Hawaii is back with the fab pork slider, as well as the vegan Terra Marketplace that debuted last year.

Favorite celeb chefs are back. Look for Jamie Deen, Robert Irvine, Gale Gand, Art Smith, Buddy Valastro, Bryan Voltaggio, Warren Brown and others to make appearances at special events and on stage in the Festival Center. Wine tastings, mixology seminars, cheese seminars, live entertainment and the engaging Ocean Spray Cranberry Bog give guests of all ages plenty to see and do. More than 270 chefs and culinary stars from the U.S. will be there.

The 46-day festival runs September 27-November 11. You can start making reservations in August at 407-WDW-FEST (date to be announced soon)! Keep an eye on www.epcotfoodfestival.com for updates.

Is Belgium usually represented at Food and Wine? I have never been and I'm way more of a beer fan than a wine fan so I'm excited to hear that they incorporate beer into the events as well. Some of the best beer in the world coms out of Belgium so was hoping they are represented. Does anyone know what American breweries are showcased?

Yes, Belgium is definitely represented. We enjoyed the beer flight from there last year, which consisted of Hoegaarden, Stella Artois and Leffe Blonde.

As for American beers, main one represented by the American Adventure is Sam Adams. Lots of choices, with a special 'Festival' beer each year (although this 'special' beer is usually available elsewhere).

BUT, the Craft Beer kiosk is awesome and has representation from all over the US. Last year's representation was:

Widmer Rotator IPA: Spiced IPA, Portland, OR
    Red Hook Pilsner, Seattle,WA
    Blue Moon Seasonal, Golden, CO
Leinenkugel Berry Weiss, Chippewa Falls, WI
Florida Beer Company’s Devil’s Triangle, Cape Canaveral, FL
Abita Purple Haze, Abita Springs, LA
Full Sail IPA, Hood River, OR
Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, Chico, CA

I'd love to see Wilson Phillips! I adored them back when they were popular. I know, cutesy pop, but they can harmonize. Chips off the old block!

Yes, overall, it's a great lineup. Would like to see the GoGo's, Night Ranger and Sugar Ray as well. And we saw Boys to Men a few years back and they were great!

Me too! I used to listen to them over and over. I saw Night Ranger last year. I need to start planning my Food & Wine visits to match up with the artists. I'd love to see Sugar Ray.

Big Bad Voodoo Daddy always seems to close out the F&WF. I'll be there for Christopher Cross, Hanson and Dennis DeYoung.

Ok, now 'Sailing' is running through my head.

We are missing 38 Special by a couple of days
We have seen them the last 4 years in a row and they are great. We have also seen Survivor and they are good too.

Would love to see Night Ranger, but we are only going to EPCOT one night this year so it looks like Boyz II Men for us.

I am also bummed we will miss them. Saw them in Ct in a very small venue with a meet and greet a year ago when they all got back together and they were awsome. We will see the groups from 38 Special to Christopher Cross so that will be good too.
