    Default Fantasmic AP Viewing Nights

I found this info on another forum...)shame on me)...lol

Don't know if it is true or a rumor. I am trying to check it out. I will be calling tomorrow and going to the park on Saturday. There was nothing on the Disneyland AP site or in the newsletter.

To kick off the 20th anniversary for Fantasmic, There will be special AP viewing nights. The nights are Monday/Tuesday May 14/15 and 21/22. They said it runs from 10pm to 1 am. You need to reserve your night in person at the ticket booth before May 10th. If you live 2 hours or more away from DL you can RSVP by phone.

The AP phone is 1-714-781-4567 and press 0 to talk to a CM.

Can anyone confirm if this is true?

It is true. I got an email from Disney. I'm thinking about it doing it one night since it will happen while the wife and son are out of town. Hard to do the late stuff like that with the family.

I didn't get any emails. Thanks for the confirmation.

I will put in our RSVP on Saturday, for May 14th. Will have a day late Disney mother's day.

Just got off the phone with the AP CM. He checked my pass and I am elegiable. He said the emails are being sent out in batches. The next batch should be out today or tomorrow.

Check in for the event will be at 12noon. The Fantasmic showing will be at 11:30pm. They will have special foods available, not sure about merchandise.

The CM suggested getting there early to enjoy the park before the event starts. I plan on doing that anyway. He also didn't think there would be any problems if I didn't have an email. He was easily able to verify my AP.

Since it will be a limited event, I hope I get the date I want. If no... I will just go with the flow and take what ever date they have left.

I think you would still be able to RSVP, as long as there is still space available on one of the days.

We went to the viewing on 5/15. It was really handled nicely. We got our wristbands after 12noon. Later on in the day we started noticing a lot more wristbands.

We had dinner at Whitewater snacks and then headed to DCA to go back into Disneyland. It seemed crowded that day, especially for a weekday.

I figured we had time so we went on a few attractions and headed over to the ROA to get our spot. That was around 9pm. YIKES... all the spots were filled up already and the viewing was not until 11:30 PM. Since I am on a scooter, we waited until they opened up the wheelchair section and got a nice spot up against the railing. It was not the best head on view as it was on the side where you board the Mark Twain. It was still nice though.

They started the viewing with a preview on how Fantasmic was made and also showing the advertising clips that were shown 20 years ago. That was really well done. I didn't get any of the special food offerings with the exception of popcorn in a Fantasmic bucket. We did get a couple of Fantasmic 20th Anniversary Tshirts. No special pins were made or sold.

I thought the crowd would be horrible when leaving, but it wasn't. Even though it was a standing room only crowd it flowed nicely. We didn't go on any rides after the viewing as only a few were open to us. On the way out, all of Tomorrowland was closed as well as all the stores on Main Street. One thing I liked was they were still playing the Fantasmic music on Main Street as we were leaving.

I hope they do more AP events like this.

I for one LOVED that they offered this for pass holders. We attended on 5/21/12. We too got to the ROA around 9pm. Got a decent spot with straight on viewing. We bought two tshirts and some a popcorn bucket. Wanted more but have a feeling that there will be plenty of merchandise available for everyone starting this weekend when the show officially kicks off to the masses.

Enjoyed the added pre-show for the most part. Definitely enjoyed riding Haunted Mansion afterwards as a walk on.

I enjoyed that they had the music playing on Main Street as well. The only gripe I had was that absolutely everything was closed on Main Street on the way out. They should have had a merchandise cart out or something. Missed opportunity in my humble opinion.

There was a small group waiting for the characters at the train station. We decided to head home. Very glad we did after seeing the pics of that online.

All in all a fun time. Thanks again Disney for putting this show on for the pass holders!

I agree but no one would leave if the stores were open. I guess in this case $$$ is bad

***For a non AP holder where is the best place to watch the show? Thanks***
    DL too many times :D
