I would go straight to Mine Train as soon as the gates open. What time of year are you going? This happened to me too :( we went in Sept so the standby line was never over an hour.

You can pick available times from available rides at the Fastpass plus kiosks after you have used your three scheduled fast passes. My Family and I loved the new system, however we do not Park Hop....
