I have used apple scooter in the past for Disney trips but my last trip 12/2015 the scooter we had looked really bad and my father kept having problems with his. Does anyone have any suggestions or has anyone used apple scooter recently? How were the scooters?

We also have always used Apple and been pleased. I'm sorry to hear about that.
I'm an "anyone but Apple" person. We rented from them a couple of years ago and had a horrible experience. We then (gave them another chance - last year) and rented a wheelchair from them, but it was also in terrible condition. So, we're Apple done!
This trip, we investigated renting a scooter, and Scooter Bug had excellent information and service. I've also seen a zillion Buena Vista scooters in the parks. We rented from them pre-Apple and were MUCH happier.
I've never had any problems with Apple but Buena Vista is the other we've tried and were very satisfied.

I am another vote for Apple. I have currently two reserved for my trip in 5 days. In the past I have only had one issue with a scooter. I worked fine until the end of the day and when we went to get off the bus it was no go. After pushing it off the bus I called Apple and within 30 min I had a replacement which worked great the rest of our trip.
I must say that they do not look like much as they are really used but they work well. Not an issue with the one I had last year. I think that this is about the 6th year I have rented from them. A plus is they include the hazard insurance at no cost and are cheaper than the other providers.

I've heard good things about Buena Vista Scooters. Next trip is my first ECV rental experience, and I'm renting from Walker, whom I've heard great things about. The reason I chose Walker for my first rental, however, is that since it's my first time, I want to meet with the person who drops off my scooter in case I have questions. From what I hear, they should be good. If it weren't my first time, and I were more comfortable with scooter rentals, I might go with Buena Vista.
Regarding Apple, they supposedly were good, but I've heard a lot of complaints just within the last year or so.
DW and each use scooters. She has had her own for 10 years. I rented from Apple in 2009 and 2010. I had my own since 2012. On our 2012 trip, her scooter broke down and we wound up renting from Apple again for the trip duration. In 2014 my sister rented from Apple. None of us had any problems with Apple. They give the best bang for the buck, and I recommend them all of the time.
