Are there any medical staff/nuroses available at Disney?
There are first aid centers in each park. They are staffed with nurses during normal park operating hours. There is medical response available at the resorts if needed.
We've only needed the First Aid Centres for minor issues (sprains and pain meds), but they are staffed with nurses, so can provide advice and help if needed. Disney has excellent emergency response procedures, but hopefully that won't be needed!
Florida Hospital Celebration is 10 minutes away, or Centra Care urgent care is close by if you need more than first aid.
And a wonderful group of people they are! We have been into the First Aid Stations for everything from a granddaughter getting Fireworks ash in her eye, to bee stings, to band aids and other minor things. Always polite, professional and above all kind.
Check out The Middle's season 5, episode 24, "The Wonderful World of Hecks," where Sue makes multiple visits to the Disney Infirmary. It's fictional of course, but cute.
I'm just wondering if a nursing student could intern with Disney's medical aid group?
I am asking because I get shots every month and I am wondering if the nurse would be able to give me my shot when I am there
Thanks
I would expect that they wouldn't be able to administer the shot. They could store the medication and needles, and provide a private space for you to administer it yourself.
I know even for the over the counter things, they don't give them to you, they just provide them and you take them yourself.
If you can't self-administer, or don't have someone with you who can give you the shots, there is an urgent care just a few minutes away, or maybe your doctor could make arrangements for while you're away?
