Ticket question
We currently have a trip planned for mid November and have bought tickets which need to be used by December 31, 2018. Now there may be an issue with our date and we may need to look into moving the trip to January. I image there has to be a way to pay something to keep these tickets valid but I’m not sure how that could work (or if I’m correct). Does anyone have any idea what would happen with these tickets if we did need to reschedule?
Thanks!

I would call and ask what your options are

Tickets that expire before use are fairly new in the Disney world, and I don't think there has been much experience with trips that get pushed into the new year. I second giving them a call, and would love if you could share with us, since I'm sure you're not the only person who will be in this situation.

Disney has said that if a ticket expires before is first use, the full purchase price of the expired ticket will be applied to a new ticket of equal or greater price. Its a way for Disney to recoup any ticket price increase that may occur after the purchase of the original ticket.
They've made it clear that while that particular ticket may expire, you will not lose the value of it.

I called the Disney ticketing number and spoke with someone about this. He said that we could pay the difference to update them to the current pricing and have them be valid in January. He said that as long as we hadn't used them yet we can make the changes over the phone beforehand. He did tell me that we would not be able to use them in January to make fastpass reservations until they had been upgraded.
