Extra Extra!

8/21/16 A new attraction has been temporarily added to the Magic Kingdom’s Evening Extra Magic hours line-up. Until the reopening of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad on 11/19/16, Guests may experience Splash Mountain during Evening Extra Magic Hours as an alternative attraction.

Meet & Move

8/21/16 Character Meet & Greets have recently been rearranged at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Donald Duck and Daisy Duck are now located at a Meet & Greet near Sid Cahuengas One Of A Kind Shop. Goofy and Chip & Dale are now located at a Meet & Greet across from the Writer’s Shop.

Benched

8/21/16 Disney's All Star Sports Resort has announced a multi-month refurbishment for one of its pools. The Grand Slam Pool is scheduled to be closed for refurbishment October 10, 2016 through Early December 2016. During this time, Guests may still use the Surfboard Bay Pool.

Road to Recreation

8/21/16 Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort Cast have reported that a new recreation option was added in Mid-July 2016. The sprawling resort now offers single and double surrey bike rentals. The bikes may be rented from Noon till 8:00 pm daily.

Das Band

8/21/16 Epcot has recently added a new live musical act to World Showcase. Margret Almer & The Bavarian Band debuted earlier this month at a new Bavarian themed stage constructed in Epcot’s Germany pavilion. The new musical group is currently performing 25 minute shows Thursday through Sunday at 1:05 pm, 2:10 pm, 3:10 pm, 5:00 pm, 6:00 pm, 7:00 pm & 8:00 pm.

Factory Shutdown

8/21/16 After some concern was caused by not listing Refillable Mug accommodations in the Port Orleans Food Court refurbishment letters, Guest and Cast reports have put those concerns to rest. Guest and Cast have reported that the Scat Cat’s Café temporary food court has accommodations for the resort Refillable Mugs with Coca Cola Freestyle machines, coffee machines, and hot chocolate machines.

6/23/16 The Walt Disney World resort has made a general public announcement for the multiple month refurbishment for the Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory food court. The official operational schedule has been updated to indicate a closure from July 11, 2016 through November 25, 2016.

6/18/16 E-mails to Guests with stays Mid-Summer through Late October indicate a closure of the Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory food court. Resort Cast have reported that the closure will be July 11 - Fall 2016. Resort Cast reports and the e-mails to Guests indicate that Scat Cat's Cafe will re-open during the refurbishment offering select Guest favorites like po-boy sandwiches, jambalaya, gumbo, and beignets. Despite the e-mails to many Guests, there is no confirmation yet on the official operational schedule or a general public announcement.
