i have tried to book it for my upcoming trip and nothing was avaialbe. (it was the first day we could book), so does it fill up that fast? or are they not taking reservations at this time?

What timeframe are you looking for? I would suspect they haven't released the reservations for the new meal yet.
A signature restaurant with characters....no thank you. It's 2 credits on the dining plan....I have a feeling a lot of these character meals are going to become more expensive than they already are.
