Mickey's Backyard BBQ at Fort Wilderness will be closing at end of the year... Final performance is December 31st... This is to make way for the DVC addition... Another BBQ show may return once DVC is built...
Rumor is Hoop Dee Doo may also close, but for now, it is safe... For now....
I'm not sad about the BBQ closing, it was always kinda "meh" to me. But, I know the Fort lovers are very concerned about DVC, and what impact it may have on the campground.
I would be shocked if they closed Hoop Dee Doo ... that place is packed for most shows, but then, you never know what Disney will do next.
I wasn't a fan of the BBQ, but it was a good place for little ones to meet characters.
We did this a couple of times when the girls were younger and we had a blast! Haven't felt the need to do it again, but glad we did. I think it was a great option for families with little ones.

Wow! We just did BYBBQ for the first time last month so I'm glad we did. It was interesting to see the remains of River Country adjacent to the BYBBQ. However, what's the rumor for DVC and how would it affect Fort Wilderness in general?
