Disney Announces Partnership With Chiquita

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Walt Disney World and Chiquita announced a partnership Friday that will bring produce to Disney's theme parks and cruise ships.

As part of the agreement, Chiquita will sponsor the Crush 'n' Gusher, a water coaster at Typhoon Lagoon as well as Living with the Land at Epcot.

Chiquita said in a press release it would also participate in runDisney marathon events, beginning with the Wine and Dine Half Marathon Weekend in September.

The agreement will also bring more Fresh Express salad items to locations around Walt Disney World.

Disney has patterned with other health-focused brands in the past year.

In October, Disney announced a similar partnership with Ocean Spray to bring cranberry products into Disney's properties. Part of that agreement includes a cranberry bog at the upcoming Epcot International Food & Wine Festival.

Another corporate tie in....watch out or you just might soon see the ride cars in space mountain painted yellow and the ride renamed the Banana Split sponsored by Chiquita.

Nothing new in regards to corporate sponsorships and tie-ins. Fine with me. I'm glad to see the Land with sponsorship again. Hey, maybe they'll finance that new Soarin' film everyone dreams of. ;)
