Epcot Character Spot?
Yes, you're right. He is in his classic gear there, as well as the special Visa meet and greet at Innoventions. I don't know, I just like the idea of the characters being in all sorts of costumes. I think it's really cute. I wish they did more of this with characters other than Mickey as well. (Chip N Dale, hint hint)
I went today amd I gotta say I was totally underwhelmed. I really like when they offer new things at Disney because as a local, it keeps it from becoming routine. But I can't find enough good in this.
The entry and holding areas are not ornate or well themed. Remember the County Bounty where there were velvet drapes & twinkle lights as you walked the line to meet the princesses? Now it's a gold room with red theater ropes. A few frames scattered here and there. The Mickey ones were not active. The two princess ones put up trivia questionshttp://4.bp.blogspot.com/-SwK9aVMKjg...oto-704493.JPG
Mickey's backstage area is cute. But they are rushing you so much you can't take it all in.
"autograph books open and cameras ready folks!!" is the drill as you approach!! Hurry hurry!!
The princess waiting area is worse. It's blue walls and black exposed ceiling. Period. then when you get to the princess room it's a mural screen
and a bench at each princess station.
The worse part today was- when you exit there is a little hall you go thru before you
spill into the store - I watched three "off duty " princesses be escorted in full
make up and wig caps from one door of the princess room to the door leading
backstage. I was floored!!
I really don't like to say negative things about Disney. I moved across the country to be
close enough to go every day, because we generally enjoy everything there is to offer
But this is a
stinker in my opinion. :(
I'll try to upload and link some photos.
Here is mickey's room

The princess holding area
(I didn't want to creep out ppl and photograph them- and it's a very narrow space)

WOW that is actually very disappointing to hear that you saw off duty princesses in transfer. Talk about ruining the illusion! That kind of thing is exactly what Walt didn't want! Yikes.
Yeah it was really kind of amazing... I never would have thought I'd see that. I've seen the ppl in DHS walk behind the Narnia area in black pants, black shoes, black shirts, hair in headbands, carrying a big black bag, but that somehow doesn't disappoint me as much becuase kids never would know their face if they saw them.
I told a CM (manager) that they REALLY need to do something about that...I'm 40 and I'm ok, but if I was 8? No way! She had me describe it and I told her that as I exited the greeting room, there were two doors opposite each other (think Scooby Doo where they run from door to door across the hall) and there were CM's at each door...one opened the door, out came the 3 girls in their hair net things, tanks, and some kind of pant rolled up to the knee?, and two CM's were at the other door, one holdiing it open, one waving them through like a crossing guard.
She said, "well it's the first day so unfortunately we're still working out the bugs" and I totally get that, I do. But some bugs should be worked out before showtime. I hope some little 8 year old princess never gets stuck in that 'traffic"
Thanks for the pictures! :thumbsup:Quote:

I'm pretty disappointed to see that boring Princess area. Disney, who is directing this show?
As someone who works on sets and props, I just want to go over and "fluff" it up.
Coming Soon: FASTPASS for bathrooms.
Okay, I totally went into this last night thinking I wasn't going to like it...but I did. Granted, I didn't encounter any of the bad show that Christine did, and would have been just as put off as she was had I seen that.
Yeah, the queue is kinda plain, but the Mickey frames were working for us and I thought they were cool. Mickey is doing a 'ball under the cup' trick in one, and a card trick in the other. People in line were clueless that they were animated, and surprised when they came to life.
I liked the buildup of going down the hall past the dressing room doors and into Mickey's room. Loved the set in there, and in particular the Sorcerer's shelf. Mickey and Minnie were quite animated and I didn't feel like we were too rushed.
Oh, and we didn't do FP. In fact, they weren't even offering it last night and the wait was only 15 mins. The Princesses were a 20 minute wait, but we didn't wait to see them. Kinda hard to convince my 11 year old DS to do that with me. ;)
A few pics I took of the stars of the show, one of the animated frames and the Sorcerer's shelf above Mickey's dressing table.
Awesome pictures, thank you! :mickey:
have we discovered how the FP works? Does it take away your ability to get an attraction FP or is it separate?
AWESOME!!!!!
Thanks Jason! :mickey:
