Looking for an opinion

My wife and I want desperately to do a parks + cruise someday, but don't want to rush it for sake of getting it under our belts. My question is this: if you could only do one or the other, would you rather go with a 4 and 7 year old child or 10 and 13 year old?

I am the parent of 4 kids ages 12 to 18. I miss the wonder and awe of the 4 to 7 year-old stages. I love who my kids are now (and that they still LOVE Disney!) but I miss when they were the age when everything was amazing. I'd choose the younger ones.

No brainer for me. 4 and 7. Perfect age for Disney dreams and magic. :thumbsup:

Thanks! We are planning for May 2018. Is there any magic formula for prices when you are coupling cruise plus parks?

Years ago there were "land and sea" packages - but they usually weren't a great deal. Now, you have to book the park part and the cruise part separately, and I highly recommend using Magical Journeys, as they will get you the best deal on both!

Four and seven sound like better ages to me. There's a temporary syndrome that sometimes affects 13-year-olds--it's called the "Everything is Boring" syndrome. No matter how much they loved an activity before it suddenly become "not as fun as I remember it". Fortunately, they do grow out of that eventually. ;)

We took our 3 and 5 year olds last year and they still talk about it more than they do their trips to WDW. We ended up booking another one this January so they can experience it again since going on "Mickey's Boat" is a constant vacation request now.

I don't think age will matter especially for a family bonding. Besides, speaking of Disney parks 4 and 7 could be a perfect age for that.

Disney at any age is great, but if you can get them there at 4 and 7 it is better. Why? Because it makes the magic that much more special when you see the amazement and wonder in their eyes. Although with that said our 19yo still likes getting her picture taken with characters too. The other upside with older children is (generally) more patience and a more relaxing experience. Enjoy!

Actually I believe the technical term for that is "The Age of Not Believing". Angela Lansbury even sang a song about it! ;-)
