Talk about your thread ressurection. Of course I remember him but not from Disney, mainly from the Florida Citrus Bowl
I have a pair of earrings with him! And I read about a series of pins that have either recently come our, or are due to in the next year.
I think so. Is he the bird who acts kind of like a proffessor and wears glasses?
Yep,I bought a couple of banks as recently as 2003 or 2004 from one of the roadside orange stands on our way back home from DisneyWorld. They were only $5.00 then.:D
I noticed some newly released Orange Bird pins the other day at Downtown Disney.
Oh great now i'm going to be on an obsessive orange bird quest everywhere.
yes yes yes heres a pic if wanted http://www.creationscelebrations.com...angebirdjp.gif
push it and there should be a picture
Sure do!! Thanks for the flashback!!:mickey:
I had a necklace with an Orange Bird pendant on it.
wow...that's weird. my cousin recently showed me an orange bird bank that she recieved from an aunt and I didn't even know that they had a character of him at the parks! That is really cool!
Still keeping this old post going. For nostalgia.
I just got back from the World last week and came home with an Orange Bird pin and an Orange Bird canvas tote bag. I bought it in the America Pavillion in Epcot. I was so shocked to see it. I had to have it. I used to have a Orange Bird bank but do not recall where it disapeared to.
He looks a little familiar, but I'm not being assaulted by a wave of nostalgia for him, so he must not have made a huge impression on me. He's cute though. I do remember drinking OJ from a plastic orange with a green straw.
Apparently, Disney still owns the rights to the character. They just introduced the Orange Bird merchandise in February of this year, per the Disney Parks Website, but they supposedly introduced the character in Japan (not sure if Japan in general, or just Tokyo Disney) a few years ago.
New Orangebird pins huh? I NEED one of those!
Somewhere in on of the boxes I haven't unpacked yet, I have an Orangebird bank.
I think I may even have a glass mug with the Orangebird logo.
When I was in Anaheim in April, I bought an Orangebird pin at the pin trader cart at Downtown Disney.
I kind of remember the orange bird campaign. I fell in love with the orange bird pins at WDW during spring break and now have a good collection of them. They even have a couple at Disneyland.
It's funny I found this thread. I was in EPCOT a few weeks ago and saw an Orange Bird pin on a pin cart and I had a very vague memory of seeing him in the Magic Kingdom when I was very little. I showed my parents the pin and asked them if they remembered him. My mom remembered him. Then I asked them if they remembered giving me a drink in a plastic orange with a paper straw. They both remembered that and my dad's sure he kept it with all his old Disney stuff. It's funny how everyone seems to remember him a little bit.
Posted this back in 2007 and am so happy to see that my favorite Disney character has made a comeback and developed an new Disney fanbase!!!
For those still in search of merchandise, try the Co-op store at Disney Springs, got myself a cool throw pillow there. Thanks Disney!!!
1st trip was in 1991, so i don't have anything. I keep thinking I will order something from the store. There was a plush at one of the parks in May.
