My 7 year old nephew broke is ankle last night and is in a walking cast. We are heading to WDW this weekend and staying a All Star Movies. He can walk on it but probably not all day. I guess we will rent a wheel chair when we get there.
Any recommendations on the best place to rent a wheel chair, waiting in lines, etc...

Sorry to hear about the ankle!! Given that he is 7, will a stroller work? It might be easier to push around than a wheelchair.
I understand resorts have a limited number of wheelchairs they can make available to guests on a first come/first served basis - no guarantees one will be available for you though.
You can rent wheelchairs in the parks but they need to be left in the parks which creates a dilemma for getting to and from the bus stops. Most renters who use off-site locations for length of stay rentals rent motorized chairs but they may also have child sized wheelchairs available for rental as well.
To assist with the waiting in line issue, you may want to get a Disability Access Card. More information here.
I am not sure if they still do this, but my wife broke her ankle the week before we went to WDW 10 years ago. At the time we were able to take the wheel chair that ASMusic gave us to the park. We were able to leave it at the front of the park where we rented a scooter for my wife (that left me free to push the stroller), and pick it up when we turned the scooter in.
Have you inquired with his doctor about a knee scooter? I know a friend whose son broke his foot and he has been using a knee scooter to get around on his day trips to Disneyland lately. Might work for a kid who has a walking cast and can walk some.
DD was in a walking cast one of our last trips, even though she couldn't actually walk on it. She had a knee-scooter (knee scooters are the BEST THING EVER!) and/or crutches for "regular" use, but there is just too much walking at Disney, and she needed a wheelchair.
For a 7 year old, I would rent a wheelchair from an off-site company, since you can rent a smaller one, which will be more comfortable for him. The authorized providers can have the wheelchair waiting for you at the resort, and it will be cheaper than renting from Disney.
But, if you want, we have also rented from Disney, and it is easy to pick one up, even during the day, and if you park hop, you can show your receipt and get one at the new park. This is an easy option, since there is no pre-planning, and if you have a problem with it, just swap it out for another one.
Almost all of the lines are accessible, and for the couple that have an alternate entrance, the CM at the front will direct you. Otherwise, there won't be much change in accessing the rides, especially if he can take a few steps from the wheelchair to the ride itself.
Renting the wheelchair from Disney will be a good option if you are staying in a smaller resort. Otherwise, you will not have one for use there.
Thanks for all the great advice. Thankfully he can walk some so we can park the wheel chair and he can walk to the line. We will have to see how sore it gets with the standing.
