I know many people rave about this place but, to me, it is okay but not spectacular. Table service options within Animal Kingdom are very limited so I'm sure that drives up attendance at this location.
We've eaten there several times. Always enjoyed it, but it's not a must do. The green bean appetizer is really good.

Y&Y has definitely become one of our favorites when we visit. It's rare we don't get there when we visit the Animal Kingdom on a trip. Good food, great dessert, and we've had very good experiences with the service. If you have not tried it yet, I'd recommend you check it out for yourself.
I've got a YouTube video review of the quick serve station there.
I agree with Linda, it's okay nothing spectacular. It's part of the Landry chain, so what you get is pricey and decent but not necessarily outstanding food. Things that can be prepared quickly and to a standard, nothing super unique or creative, but certainly not bad.
What I like about Yak and Yeti is that the setting is slightly more interesting than your usual chain, with lots of authentic artwork. I have never had a bad meal. And I really like the wonton dessert. What I don't like is, as stated, that it feels kind of "been there, done that" as far as the menu choices. But I don't go there expecting to be blown away. For an in-park meal, we've been satisfied with it.
I really like the Yak and Yeti! The pot stickers are delicious, as is the crispy honey chicken, one of their most popular dishes. But they do have more adventurous choices, if you so choose. One of my favorite dishes is the chicken tikka and while I'm not usually a dessert person, I make an exception for the mango pie. Very fun atmosphere too!
We have always enjoyed the food at Y&Y. My only complaint has been the service - from the girls at the front desk to the servers to the people who clear the tables. Spotty at best and I have been known to ask for the manager because of disappearing waiters.
I think the Yak & Yeti is fine. For me the food at Y&Y is similiar the Asian cusine I can get anywhere. I prefer the African inspired food at the Tusker House buffet.
We really like Yak & Yeti. The atmosphere is top notch, with the food being good. It's typical Disney fare and far from 5 star but it's very much worth the price and like I said the atmosphere is perfect. It's a great place to cool down while eating good food.
We have reservations at Yak & Yeti in April. It's a must do for us ... we love Yak & Yeti! We tried the green bean appetizer last trip and and thought it was very good. Will get that again. I usually get the Shaoxing steak and tempura shrimp that I thought was wonderful, but they removed it from the menu, so I don't know what I'm getting this time. They replaced it with Kalbi steak and coconut shrimp that I will probably try this time, so I can't vouch for that yet. The fried wonton dessert is probably my favorite dessert in all of Disney World! I also like the theme and I've always gotten good service. Obviously I highly recommend Yak & Yeti!
We've eaten there twice. Enjoyed it both times. Theming is awesome. Food is good; so was service. DW and DD loved it both times. Must-do for both of them on most recent trip.
Its been a few years since we've been to WDW, but Yak and Yeti was always our table service spot. There were only two of us, so we sat at the bar, where you can order from the full menu. But we always LOVED the meal.
We also like Yak & Yeti and have an ADR for our next trip. We really like the feel of the place and my boys love the food.
Thanks for the reviews folks. Looking forward to the new experience.
All I know is....the crispy honey chicken!! Always try to grab it when in AK
two words - mango pie.
These days we tend to sit at the bar, order the dim sum and a drink and follow it up with the mango pie (especially if it is just the two of us)
