"Aloha, cousin!',deja vu at Blizzard Beach and Epcot EMH

After catching some Z's from a great day at Epcot,Stitch woke me up at 8:00am. Why? I had a reservation at the 'Ohana character breakfast. So I dressed, drank some juice, then went to the MK to transfer at the monorail. After arriving at the Poly,I got in line to confirm, waited about 10 minutes, and yes I was a bit nervous. Now you may be asking why am I doing a character breakfast solo. First of all,I always wanted to do this, since it was my first time(gasp),secondly,I like Lilo & Stitch and third I had a TS credit to waste.

You may also be thinking:"Gee how is someone brave enough to do a character meal solo?" . Well, take note:
1.People are not saying:"Gee look at him,all alone in a character meal." Sorry,no one's looking at you. They are way too focused on meeting characters, and of course eating. If it still bothers you, note that there's a 99.9% chance that you will never see these people again.

2.IF it does bother you a lot, just tell them you are here for the food! Because honestly,it is that good.

Now after the pager was activated,a CM escorted me to the table. I was told what 'Ohana means, everybody here calls each other "cousin",and of course here you just "shaka"(hang loose!). One of the great things about 'Ohana is they bring the food to you, unlike other places. The food here is incredible, the best breakfast meal I had in a very long time. Mickey waffles, hash browns, fresh fruit and that sweet, sweet pineapple bread. Oh and there's a juice mix of orange, guava and pinnaple,I had 6 servings of this...very,very good. The food was plenty enough, that the waitress told me to be careful otherwise I might get sick from eating all that pineapple bread!
Now for the character interaction:Pluto came in first and I had to kindly ask the family at the nearby table to take a picture. Then came Lilo and she was a bit suprised since I was alone, then she gave me a big hug(I won't forget that),and a waiter took a picture. Then came Stitch and he sat down with me to make a "toast" from his empty cup! I got a great picture of him(I won't forget that either). Then finally,Mickey came along and took the last picture, thanks to a CM. I purchased the picture that was taken upon check-in,it has Lilo,Stitch,Mickey and Pluto on one side and your photo in the other.

I felt a bit awkward at first, however,I didn't get any "odd" looks,in fact I saw a group of college kids nearby(Mickey ears included),so I didn't felt out of place at all,I felt like a kid. If anyone, adult or child, has never done a character breakfast:do it. Try it,this is one of the many gems of WDW. If you are a solo or a couple:go ahead and try it! Now the 'Ohana breakfast is one I highly recommend, the other place you might wanna check out is the Cape May breakfast at the Beach Club. And make those reservations!

After succesfully conquering 'Ohana,I rested in the lobby a bit, then walked around until I saw a sign that said:"Monorail to Epcot". Lo and behold,I was at the TTC. So I took the scenic monorail and transfered to CSR. It was about 85 degrees,so I grabbed some $13 sunscreen(!),went to my room to grab my bathing suit, then headed out to BB. For the first time ever,in all my 3 visits here:it was nearly empty! No huge lines,no people fighting for beach chairs...awesome. I did nearly all the slides 3 times, there was hardly a line for anything even Summit Plummit. The chair lift wasn't workinhg though, and I still can feel those stupid stairs to get to the slides, ugh. Anyway,I had a great time at the nearly deserted BB.

It was 5pm now,so I went back to CSR for a shower, then went to Downtown Disney for some shopping. After I bought a nice 07 t-shirt at World of Disney,I headed to Wolfgang Puck express to grab a pizza. And boy, that margherita pizza is yummy. Afterward I went to CSR then to Epcot for EMH,first stop:Soarin' with a wait time of 30 minutes. I got the 2nd row this time around, indeed it is much better than the 3rd row at least. Next I did the Living with the Land ride, since everybody was flocking to Soarin',I had the boat to myself! Even the CM was telling that I could be the captain. Very interesting ride-through and it was relaxing seeing all those plants and fish,I even liked the way the doors open to get to the next section.

Afterward,I went out to the Imagination! pavillion. I had fond memories of the jumping fountains from my first trip in 1994,can you believe I never rode Journey into Imagination? I remember back then going to the second level of the pavillion and messing with the pin tables and such. But I never did this ride, maybe because at the time we all just forgot about it.Flash-foward to 2007 and I finally rode it. It was interesting,I liked the "blast" part. Another higlight of the night was when I went to Honey, I Shurnk the Audience. All I can say is that the Kodak pre-show was torture, and the first part of the "lost dog" segment was so wrong for today's standards that I had to laugh at it. Here's another thing that happened at the pre-show:a kid had the "heelys" shoes and rode along the carpet, when it was pitch black....CLANK! he hit the small stage,I saw that he had his chin hurt, but we all had an award ceremony to attend. The CM's were giving him medical attention though. See why are these things dangerous here?

I still like this show, even if it is a second time. Afterward I did Mission:Space again. I love it. Now for the last ride,I did Test Track, here I met a dad with a little girl riding it for the 4th time, the girl said hi and bye to the CM's who were at the controls, heheh. Afterward I rode it again and got seated with them again! The dad said:"how did you get in front of us?" Three words:single rider line. I got the photopass picture this time,we all look like we had a great ride, since we knew where the cameras were!
After saying our goodbye's,I got a call from some of my high school friends who moved here to Florida after graduation. We arranged to meet the next day at MGM for Espn the weekend. It was midnight now so I went back to CSR to get some very deserved sleep.

Coming up:Friends and freezing in Flo-ri-duh.

Thanks again for reading my report. This was certainly one of the highlights of the trip. I really like writing these and telling people about my solo trip. Man I will never do those stairs at Blizzard Beach in a long time,I should try Typhoon Lagoon sometime. :mickey:

You really have my mouth watering for that yummy pineapple danish/bread from the Ohana breakfast! :tasty: I am glad you had so much fun doing a solo character meal there. Sounds like the staff and the characters took good care of you. Thanks for sharing another great day! :mickey:
