We are planning on getting to Florida a day early. Originally we were going to stay at a hotel outside Disney for that night. Now DH thinks we should book a room only at POR for that day (Fri. 8/17).
Does anyone know if that is possible? We already have reservations at POR for 8/18-8/25. Our package is the MYW + Dining with water park and hopper. Would coming in a day earlier and getting a room only mess up our existing reservations? Also, do you know if we would stay in the same room the whole time or have to change rooms on Saturday?
Thanks for your help. I would bug the travel agent with this, but we booked through AAA and they are closed.

You can do one of two things: Add a night to your current package (which would mean that you also pay for another night with the Dining Plan in your MYW Package) OR You can add a room only reservation. Disney will tell you that there is a chance that you might have to switch rooms. The chances are small that you'd have too, but they do have to tell you that there's that chance you might. You will have two separate "reservation numbers" by doing a room only, so you would need to recheck-in on your originally-planned arrival date. (No biggie- just pop in at the front desk.)

IM me if you have more questions... I'd be happy to help. :mickey:

Mickey's Pal,
Thanks for the help. Glad to hear it would be two different confirmation numbers. I was afraid that if we modified the original reservation we would run into some problems!

I had the same situation today. I was planing on staying outside of WDW the first night and then check in early the next day. When I thought of how much I would be spending on taxi fares from airport to hotel and then the next day anotjer taxi to check in at WDW it made more sense to just stay at Disney that night instead of outside. What surprised me was the disney travel specialist. When I called There were no room available for that day so he called guest services to see what they could do with my reservation and my brothers reservations. He asked for my phone number and within 35 minutes he called back. They were able to add the extra night at both of our reservations with the dining and even more, they kept the rate even though my original reservation was under a discounted code. I could not believe how he went out of his way to do this for me. BRAVO to Disney for that!!!:mickey:
