Hi, does anyone remember in Epcot where you could go and make dinner reservations and you would go to a tv screen and talk to a person on the tv and they would set up your dinner reservations? Do they still have this? I think it was right around SE.

I think it was called Communicore and I thought it was great, but they no longer have it.

All my ressies are made over the phone or face to face these days...

Figment!

It was part of Communicore and they are not currently available.

as in communicore is no longer available? :)

truth is, in addition to 407-WDW-DINE, any TS location can make ADRs for you anywhere in the resort. so if you're feeling that last minute urge to secure an ADR, just go into the nearest TS location and ask them to check availability at your desired location for you.

It sounds like one of the things I wish they'd bring back. Our first trip was 1994, so I don't remember it.

It was called WorldKey kiosks and not just dinner reservations, but anu Guest Relations info. You could find them at the exit to SpaceShip Earth, and at several kiosk locations throughout World Showcase. They weren't located in CommuniCore. ;)

I remember going up to them to make a reservation to eat and there was nothing left! My sister and I always used to see if a nice looking guy was on the screen:blush: (we were teens!)

Yes, I do remeber that. We visited EPCOT during Easter in 1983. I think the park had only been open about 5 months.

I can say that they were definitely there in February of 1992. I have some very fond and vivid memories of that trip as it was the first DW and I took together!
We actually were able to make many different dinner ressies during President's Week that year.

By the time the "Pink Castle" made its way into our lives, the TV screens for dining ressies seemed to have disappeared... :(

It's too bad, they were pretty cool!

I remeber them, it was back in the day when all of the FutureWorld attractions were educational, EPCOT was still an accronym (Experimental Prototype Community of Tommorow), and the Disney characters were not allowed in EPCOT.

I remember those screens. I don't think we ever used them because back then you could still just walk into a lot of restaurants and get a table, depending on the season.

Yep, I remember it! Not only could you make dinner reservations, but you could also make ressies for any of the resorts. The AC in our motorhome had massive issues, the CD wire caught on fire and the fridge defrosted all over the place. They got us rooms in the Contemporary Tower with MK view! It was awesome! I wish they would bring this back because it so Epcot! Very futuristic feeling and looks.

On my honeymoon 1989, I/we made a reservation for lunch at the bistro... (Yes it served lunch then) From that ... TV screen booking center it was cool.

At that time it was the most expensive lunch my wife and I ever had....$70.00..(1989 dollars. )

I had Coquille St Jacques and 2 french beers. Wife had salmon and we split a dessert. it was wonderful...

When people ask about Signature dining being "worth it" That is one of the meals i'll remember till I die.

BTW I can still smell the Goat Cheese Ravioli from the Califonia Grill... that was 2002...worth it...
I vote yes..

Yeah, I remember using it on my trip in 1996 or 1997, it must have been removed right after that. I thought it was really cool and futureistic too, and fit in perfectly in Epcot. Thanks for the memories!

I remember this option. They had several ports that you could walk up to in a room and make reservations with someone on a tv. I thought it the neatest thing 'cause you were interacting with someone on a tv. I was also 11 at the time so most things impressed me in WDW...and still do

Yep, it was there in Nov 1998. We used it to make a ressie for San Angel Inn - Our first WDW TS meal ever!
