What the heck is this all about??? (I was bored...I read ALL the fine print). :D

In addition, in order for a resident of Canada to be declared a winner, he/she must first correctly answer, without assistance of any kind in ascertaining the correct answer, whether mechanical or otherwise, a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question to be administered in person or by mail or telephone, at Sponsor's option

You'll see that in the rules for every sweepstakes that's open to Canadian residents.

Apparently, there's some arcane Canadian law that prohibits giving out prizes unless there's a "contest of skill" involved.

Anyone else notice the prize values?

A Dream Fastpass is only worth $5.00, and one hour in a park after closing is only worth $4.76! I wonder what great alternate prize mail-in winners will get for those?

It's a standard procedure to win anything in Canada. It's to prove you won it, not given it. Usually it's not a difficult problem....I won a trip to Disney from McDonald's last year and also $200 this year, and I had to answer a skill testing question, both were no brainers.

Does this have anything to do with the email I received from Disney Destinations asking me how they could make my dreams come true and gave me the options of Disneyland, WDW, Adventures by Disney, Disney cruises or Disney Vacation Club?

Let's see, if you mail in a postcard every day, you will spend approximately $80 in a year to enter this contest. Imagine if all you win is a pin and lanyard...

I would maybe enter once. If I don't win, that's it.

However, I am fortunate enough to get to go to DL pretty often. Now that my second DS is not a newborn anymore, we're going to try to go as much as possible in the next year. Hopefully, we'll get some pixie dust sprinkled on us.

On another note, has anyone noticed that the ARV of a night in the Cinderella Castle Suite or Mickey Mouse suite is only worth $487? That seems so low, considering dinner is included. Many many rooms at WDW and DL (concierge, suites, etc) go for much more than that per night on a daily basis...

I think 1500 prizes a day is pretty good odds, but is that per theme park or total?

That's right. We also don't claim winnings of any sort on our taxes so we have to do something in order to receive the prize.

I'm usually an optimist but I see major trouble here in the process Disney is using. First, they use the term "random" a lot which has a lot of legal requirements. Are they really going to pop-up in the middle of the Tomorrowland Racers?

Also, won't people start to notice the "Dream Team" moving in the park and swamp them. For example, it's a couple minutes to 10 pm and the Dream Team is getting into position by Dumbo. A few people notice them and go up and ask, "Are you the Dream Team?" What do they say? So the group stays around and at 10pm the Team has to award a cruise to one person. Who do they pick? 20 people are standing right there. Are the 19 people not picked going to be upset?

I was really wishing they'd do it really randomly at the turnstiles. Then everyone will feel they have the same chance and not get upset.

I wish it works out well but if I was consulting Disney on this process, I would not have let this method go forward.

(Of course, I'll change my tune if I'm selected. )

Good luck everyone!

won't people start to notice the "Dream Team" moving in the park and swamp them

I HAVE GOT to figure out how we can go to WDW in the next year!!!!

I wonder -- would I forget about all the prizes being given and wonder around totally enjoying :mickey: and then be tapped on the shoulder and told I'm a winner!?? Or would I get caught up looking for the Dream Team Mod Squad and miss the Magic?!!

I HOPE for such a dilemma!

So there are 45 really nice prizes to be won, 1231 good prizes and 1,148,724 ho hum prizes. These prizes are given out randomly during the 15 month contest. So in 15 months there will be 3 DVC's given away total for all the resorts included in the contest. During that time period there will be 1,148,724 fast passes, pins, ears or photos given away. If you are a winner, guess what you'll probably win?
I gusess it's better than nothing. :eyes:

This just sounds so amazing. I can't wait to go down there again. We're The Unluckiest Family Ever, but just knowing that people are being surprised and rewarded is just cool.

I almost envision it like the guys that wait behind the turnstiles and ask for your zip code. I always wish they'd give me presents... maybe this time, they WILL!!!

I really don't think the Dream Squad will be an obvious group of CM's. It could be 1 or 2 CM's, not a big group. They will probably just dress as regular CM's as to not rouse suspicion. The whole idea would be ruined if the dream squad was recognizable...

I'm sure Disney already thought about this. Give them some credit.

I'm also fairly confident that with each "dream" giveaway, there will NOT be a fanfare of confetti and balloons, or else there would be constant interruptions to the atmosphere of the park.

I think the CM's will be rather discreet when granting dreams or else too many onlookers will inquire why THEY did not win anything. It could be a PR nightmare if it is not handled properly.

Is this contest still open and what are some of the stipulations to it? Sure looks like fun! :mickey:The Disney Dreams Giveaway is not a contest, it is a set of Dreams (prizes) that will be randomly given to guests of the Disneyland and Walt Disney World resorts during the Year of a Million Dreams promotion. Stipulations can be found per the links above if you scroll through the whole page.

Two specific Dreams(Cinderella Castle Royal Bedchamber and Mickey Mouse Suite stays) are being given away as part of a sweepsstake, but it is now closed to entering.

No, the "Keys to the Kingdom" sweepstakes offered a trip to WDW and MK early entry to the winner. The Castle Suite stay was not part of that sweepstakes and is still open to participants for 307 days beginning at the end of January. Also, Disneyland's Mickey Mouse Penthouse is open for 367 participants to win beginning in December. :mickey:

A Squad of one? That redefines squad. Maybe two. I hope they do do it very discreetly so it doesn't turn into a publicity and legal nightmare.

#1, I'm really worried that they'll have to pick "those" people. Actually, they can't really pick anyone. The problem with "random" and "first person" is that they are meant to be arbitrary. If the squad uses any personal judgement to select a winner, they'd be breaking the rules. But you are right, it's human nature to try to select the "best" winner. That is usually not possible to keep random... I audit these kind of things for work and I've seen quite a few of these things go bad. There was a casino in NV that did some kind of prize patrol awhile back and they couldn't prove they kept it random.

I was really hoping they use the ticket machines or even a special kiosk in the park. You scan your ticket in and the computer tells you if you won. Everyone would feel they have the same chance and the computer can make sure the prizes are distributed randomly.

I'd love to give them some credit but this really seems bad to me. I really hope they keep it discreet and surprise people. That will make it work.

Good luck everyone!

Anyone else worried about Cast Members attempting to randomly award prizes? It's human nature to NOT do things randomly. I'd hate to see someone discriminated against because someone is trying to be random... Maybe it's just my audit nature kicking in but I'm worried about a scandal or publicity nightmare or some kind of legal craziness occurring all because of the word "random." From what I've seen, only computers can be random and it's even a little hard for them.

Good luck everyone. I'll be there for Day One!

I agree with the random thing I may backfire. Why not do it like the 500th person who entered the pack that day or the first person at a certain restaurant and change it up daily so its not predictable.

I agree with the random thing I may backfire. Why not do it like the 500th person who entered the pack that day or the first person at a certain restaurant and change it up daily so its not predictable. That more or less is what they are doing.

A place and day will be randomly selected, the Dream Squad will then randomly select a time and then grant the Dream to whatever party is in that place on that day at that time.
(i) in the case of a single prize, subject to Sponsor's initial verification process, the first person present at that randomly selected location and time will be notified that he/she is a potential winner of the prize; or (ii) in the case of a Batch of the same prize being awarded at the same time, subject to Sponsor's initial verification process, the first number of people matching the number of prizes in that Batch at that randomly selected location and time will be notified that each is a potential winner of one (1) of the prizes in the Batch.

Figment! - Do you think it can really work? The random time and place is ok because a computer will probably pick that, but I'm sure it's not a random place either. It's a random selection from a list of places. The time will probably also be from a computer but they will have to skew it to give away some prizes ealier, but again, that would be ok.

I see the big problem when they have to give away one prize and two or more people are at the same place. I think that will happen. Then who do you select if you're the squad? How bad are you going to feel if you are the one not selected but are there at the time and place? I just don't see this happening randomly. Especially if a crowd thinks they see the Squad and start to trail them, even if it's just a short distance from behind the scenes. Then, they may select locations close to "behind the scenes" entrances/exits and that will skew the randomness as well. I just think they are setting themselves up for trouble when they could have easily used the turnstiles (or a kiosk) to be really random.

Ok, I was a huge pessimist about the Dream Squad idea and I still think it won't really work, but... we won Dream Fast Passes today! Six of us!!! The Dream Squad wears special white vests and are very easy to pick out. At least with the easy prizes, they are doing a good job. They give them out to people already in line. That solves the problem of being swamped in public. We were the second batch of riders on Alladin's Magic Carpet. I noticed a team of three special vested "Year of a Million Dreams" vested CM's coming towad the line... I thought, "Sweet!!!" Sure enough, about 100 of the next people on the line got Dream Fast Passes. They are good only on the day you win and only for one ride per FP attraction, so it's not like you can keep going on one ride over and over. So, it's really like winning 9 FP's... And a lanyard... It's a priceless souvenier especially since it is dated 10/01/06... Good luck everybody and get in lines! I don't think they'll do much in public areas.

I really don't think the Dream Squad will be an obvious group of CM's. It could be 1 or 2 CM's, not a big group. They will probably just dress as regular CM's as to not rouse suspicion. The whole idea would be ruined if the dream squad was recognizable...

Don't know if this has already been posted or not, but the "dream team" wears khaki pants and blue button up shirts (this is what they were wearing while getting ready for the celebration). They each carry "year of a million dreams" bags--they're black. They were out last week at all the parks, and were usually found in groups of 2 or more. 1 of the :dream team" members fell in love with my DS; I'm sure once the promotion started she would've granted him a dream. :mickey: One of the "team" members at AK told a guest that they were just "watching the grass grow" this week.

How bad are you going to feel if you are the one not selected but are there at the time and place?

My attitude would be "Well, that's life!". Hey, it's not like anyone is taking anything away from me if a prize is awarded to my neighbor! I'm still at WDW (my favorite place in the whole wide world), with my husband and kids (my favorite people in the whole wide world!!)

Just rejoice in another's good fortune; it's all part of the Disney Magic! :magic:

Good luck, everyone!

I'm sure VP's and supervisors have thought out how to handle a good number a situations(mobs, people begging or getting upset, randomizing).

It seems by ClevesJM's experience that it was quite random that he was standing there and got the passes. Even if the squad had decided at 10am they would goto Aladdin and give out 100 FP's, they couldn't forsee who was in line.

I'm sure there might be an abuse here and there, but that's human and not a direct reflection on Disney's intentions. Looks like it's off to a good controlled start though.

I know I haven't posted in quite a while, but I felt I had better lay a lot to rest concerning these Dream Squad discussions.

I am on the Inaugural Dream Squad team.

The Dream Squad has 2 main functions. These are as follows.

Dream Greeter
Prize Fulfillment

We perform these in the following costume.
Tan pants and blue button down shirts. We wear a white vest when we are in Prize Fulfillment mode.

Dream Greeter
Most of our time is spent in this role. We are assigned areas where we walk around talking to guests and cast making sure they are having a good time and attempt to settle or make better any guest or cast issues.

Prize Fulfillment
We perform this role once a twice a week and are scheduled for the whole day. This is the area that most of the discussions are about.
We have no choice in what, when or where we do this. In order to keep this sweepstakes legal, we have an outside agency supplying this information to us. We can't open the envelope containing this information until just before the prize is to be distributed. We then go to the location, await the exact time (with syncronized time pieces) and award the prize as stated.

When we prize fulfill we only know what the Low Tier Bulk prizes are. These are the Dream Fast Passes, Dream Ears, Dream Lanyards and such. The Mid Level and High Level prizes are not even known to us until we take the potential winner back to Guest Relations.

In order to keep things fair and legal, the prize fulfillment portion is even kept secret among ourselves. When we are in this mode, we dont tell each other or even our leadership where we are going, when we are going or what we are giving.

All 4 parks, water parks and even Downtown Disney are included as prize fulfilling areas. I cannot give the actual areas that we deliver the prizes, but I can say that all guest areas are potential places for awarding within the above areas.

I hope this answers any questions. If not, please respond and my wife (Tiggermania) will pass questions on to me. I will do my best to return from time to time to answer those that I can. Just remember that there will be some that I cannot answer due to the confidential nature of awarding prizes.

Short Answer: Yes, but chances are not as good as those present "on-property"

Long Answer: See the official rules linked above.

Maybe I should wear a blue shirt, white vest and tan pants when I go to DL in 3 months and watch what happens :thedolls: .

Anyway, I think the best prize I can see any of us hoping to get is the one night in Cinderella Castle or Mickey's Penthouse thing. Simply for the fact that one of those is awarded EVERY DAY in both FL and CA. It's not like the DVC thing where it's 3 for the year nationwide (probably 2 and WDW and 1 at DL). Yes the odds are still not good, but just remember, someone amongst you is spending the night in the castle. For the record, if I could pick any prize I'd want the World tour grand marshall thing. I'd love to see Tokyo Disneyland.

I'm actually thinking we will win those dream fast passes when we are at DL in January, simply cause, there won't be long lines, LOL!

We were at MK on Sunday and I saw the tail end of the fast passes being handed out by the Jungle cruise. One family had only 1 member get one, a cast member went and got more for the whole party.

I also saw one of the CM's that are the greeter part of the teams, walking around, giving out stickers to all the little kids and talking with them. I sat back and observed him for a while and saw they were setting something up by Thundermountain.

A few minutes later, some cast members came through the crowd ringing a cow bell and have 4 little boys that ended up "panning for gold" They took gold mickey's (looked like the confetti from barber shop, but were all gold colored), covered them in sand, then added water and had the boys pick out the gold mickey's to put into black velvet pouches.

So, they are doing more than just the listed prizes.

Also, i a CM showed me the pins that are being given out with the lanyards. each person gets 2, one for themselves and one for a friend/or trade.

So, they are doing more than just the listed prizes.Right, but it is not part of the Disney Dreams Giveaway. Only the prizes listed through the link above are part of the Disney Dreams Giveaway.

During the Year of A Million Dreams Disney has expanded their Magical Moments program which has been around for years. During the Year of A MIllion Dreams, these "moments" are being granted more frequently and include things such as buttons, special tables and apparently Mickey gold.

Yes, I won a Magic KIngdom fastpass. Never used it. It was only good for Oct 1. The crowds were light enough that I never needed a fastpass. The Dreampeople only give out prizes when there are two or more of them together. I walked around the whole Magic Kingdom thinking that day one would be a great day to win. HA!
My husband and I talked to one of the Dream people, and he didn't give me anything. The next one I saw I asked about how the prizes are distributed. Thats when I put the puzzle together. When you see two or probably three of them, that is when they give out the prizes.

The pins given out by the CM where a person gets
one for themselves and one for a friend/or trade. are not the same as on the Dream Lanyards.
The Dream Lanyard pins have either Mickey and Minnie or Donald and Goofy on them with the Year of a Million Dreams logo on them.

The one that is given in twos is on a card that can be torn apart. It is for a CM to give out when they see a guest making magic for another guest. That guest is then asked to give the second pin to ANOTHER guest that THEY see making magic for others. This way the magic spreads! Tinkerbell is on those pins as she helps spread the pixie dust/magic around.

You are correct. We have spent weeks in training and in practice for the prize giveaway portion to debug potential issues. That's one of the reasons for using existing Cast. Who knows the attractions and park areas better than the one in the trenches?

One of the criteria the new Dream Squad Member had to come to the team with was Great Guest Service and Interactions. With that in mind, we try our best at Service Recovery on the off chance guests get upset. That's why we spend most of our time in the Dream Greeter position. We continue to hone our skills and at the same time make some on-the-spot magic for Guests and Cast alike.

Good luck and may your Disney Dreams come true.

Great posts Tony (Freetime)! Thanks for the info.

Even if a CM likes your kid, there is no way they can decide to give a prize, that's what people seemed to be saying earlier and what concerned me.

We won a bunch of Dream Ears yesterday (Tuesday) on Triceratops Twirl after Breakfastausaurus. We were on the ride and saw the dream team arrive. We had to go on it a couple more times to hit the proper "time" for the giveaway.

Nice ears!!! Silver ears with a sky blue with clouds cap. I'll post some pictures after we get home.

Good luck everybody!

First I want to say what a wonderful vacation we had!!! Now, the part that I think may cause potential problems with other guests. Yesterday (our last day), I saw a little girl in line for Goofy's Barnstormer and I noticed really nice pins on her lanyard......DS and I waited for her to get off the next train and I approached her mom and asked if I could trade pins with the daughter. I was going to trade a monorail pin my DS had traded for that we already had.....I was telling the mom that they are a set of four and they are collectible.....the little girl said she wanted to keep the mickey/minnie one and would trade me the donald/goofy one......these were on a special lanyard she was given at the teacups the mom said......the little girl has the pin off and we are in the midst of a trade and a woman comes by and says "honey, don't trade THAT pin, they are collectible and you can't buy them anywhere".....and walks away.......well, gee thanks lady.......I told the little girl that she did not have to trade with me, it was her decision if she did not want to trade now (I had not seen these pins yet either and thought they were nice and cool looking --had I known I probably would not have even tried to trade).....The girl looked at her mom and waited to see what she was going to say.....I said, "honest, it's ok if you want to keep them, it is your decision if you want to trade or not".......I didn't try to goad her into anything and she decided to keep them both. Now, the mom tells me that "they were just handing them out to EVERYONE at the teacups just a minute ago, just go there and you'll get them too!"......Now, we WERE on our way to the teacups anyway, but was there anyone there HANDING THEM OUT TO EVERYONE!?!?!?! Yeah, right and I'm in dreamland as we speak (nah, I'm home!)......NO, there was no one there handing them out to everyone, as I suspected!!!

Now the problem is that if guests go around telling people they are just handing things out there are going to be mobs of people here and there and many MANY MANY disappointed guests!! Was I disappointed? A teenie tiny bit (cause I had no idea what the deal was with this).......was I upset.......a little at the guest who came by and interrupted my conversation/pin trade in process.........is this going to skew me into not going again? NOPE!!! But my thought is is......guests don't know what is going on sometimes, and they are going to become angry and march to guest services and be mad for no reason........it's all RANDOM, and in this world much of what happens to us is RANDOM!!!!

Have fun and hopefully your dream comes true too!!!

Oh, on a side note......my 4 y/o son tells me after we walk away from this encounter.....the woman did say "the dream people are handing out these neck things and pins to everyone".......DS says "mumma, I have dreams too......can my dreams come true?"......Yes DS, your dreams can come true, one day I hope they do!!! THAT my friends IS a magical moment right there!!!!

Good luck mailing in an entry. They specify a 3"x5" postcard in the rules, but the USPS will only accept postcards greater then 3.5"x5.5" according to 253.21 (http://pe.usps.com/text/lmm/immc2_018.html) .

I know, it is an industry assumption, but it is also an indication to me that the promotion is probably not thoroughly thought out.

The predictability by which prizes are awarded (when you see more than one Dream Squad togather), and the near but not truly random way recipients are awarded prizes is just begging for problems.

Thanks Tony for the information on how the prizes are given out. I'm glad they go to so much effort to keep things fair.

I was talking to a friend of mine who works in the Disneyland parks. He was telling me the Dreams are extended to cast members too. They have an opportunity to win prizes in a completly seperate contest just for them. I think that is cool that CMs get a chance to have some dreams of their own.

When the Dream Squad is giving away the prizes it does look like they are giving them to everyone. If you are there at the right time, you would get that impression.

Get in lines. That has got to be the best tip. Rides that have easy behind the scenes access so the squad can "pop up" would be best too. If you are not in a line, or about to be in the line when the squad arrives, I think it'll be hard to win of the low tier prizes.

Good luck everybody!

I also won a "year of a million dreams" lanyard and two pins. We were so surprised. Went into the Haunted mansion and saw several cm's not in traditional haunted mansion dress and wondered what they were doing there. I thought maybe the HM cast members were new and being observed in training. To my surprise as we got out of the stretch room they stopped us and announced that we had been selected for a prize for the Year of a Million Dreams celebration. We were each given the lanyard and pins. I was with MissouriDisney so don't count on getting the prize in this same spot again. I'm sure they mix it up. We were told over and over by cast members in all the parks during our visit not to trade those pins.

Well, Congratulations to you!

But, on a general note, I'm not too crazy about Dream Team members hanging out inside themed attractions out of costume.

I always hated when the Fast Pass team worked the TOT podium in their chinos. Kind of broke the mood. I was glad to see bellpeople back in that position.

I'm not trying to cause a downswing on the wonderful mood, but this is just the begining of the "YOMD". How well do you think things will hold up through the Holidays? And then how about January, I have aready been reading about post holiday CM's being slower and tired from long hours over Christmas. (don't we all get that way?) Do you think that all the extra Magic and suprises will start to die down? Or can they keep it up all year?

I hope things are planned out far enough in advance that we won't see a lull in the "Magic Moments" or the amount of "Dreams" given out. A year is a long time, I guess I'm just worried.

I don't expect a lull at all. I expect it's all very mathematical. They have xxx Dream FP's to give away, xxx Dream Ears, and xxx Pins each day. They run their reports from the computers and go give them away. They might skew it a little based on expected crowds but I bet not too much.

Actually, I saw this on the USPS website:
The minimum size for First-Class Mail is 5 inches long, 3-1/2 inches high, and 0.007 inch thick. Pieces weighing 1 ounce or less may be subject to the nonmachinable surcharge

And the official rules state "on a 3.5"x5" postcard ", so I think we will be okay. My problem is I could only find 3.5 X 5.5 postcards, so I hope they don't get "kicked out". Maybe I will just trim them up a little.

Does anyone know if more than one person per household can enter the mail in portion? I didn't see anything saying "no" in the rules, but its easy to miss something in all that fine print.

I just read somewhere that one of the "dreams" given out at Disneyland was for a family to get a table service at Red Rocket Pizza Port and eat their meal on a table with table cloth and order off a menu. Now, you would think that the meal is the prize... but NO... they had to pay for the meal. The environment was their prize. They did get free drink refills though... for drinks that they had to pay for!

BTW, one of the rumors floating around is that Disney will hand select large prize winners to fit their commercial demographics... no goth families!

And what is the problem with that? This was not an actual sweepstakes prize, but a "guest of honor" type thing. We've heard that they've done the same type of thing at WDW restaurants -- escorting the selected family to a specially decorated table and making a big deal over them. I would feel pretty special, even if I did have to pay for my own food!

BTW, one of the rumors floating around is that Disney will hand select large prize winners to fit their commercial demographics... no goth families!
Maybe you missed the Dream Team cm who posted here. Winner selection is by very specific, randomized procedures. For major winners, the Dream Team is not even told what the prize is; they simply select the winner according to procedure (essentially, being at the right place at the right time), and bring them back to Guest Relations where the prize is revealed.

What's more, a Disney spokesperson specifically said that winners would not be selected based on their appearance. That would be a blatant violation of the sweepstakes rules, and I think Disney is smarter than to do that.

We won Dream Fastpasses at Disneyland. Goofy was handing them out on the pathway that goes behind Thunder Mountain. This was early on a weekday morning, and traffic was light in the area. There were three Dream Team CMs along with Goofy; they must have had at least 100 passes to hand out. They gave them to anyone who walked up and asked for one. You couldn't pick up a pass for anyone else, though; the CMs had to see each person in your party.

The lanyard had cards for both Disneyland and California Adventure. A printed fastpass for Haunted Mansion Holiday was also included, as there was not a tab for the Haunted Mansion on the plastic card.

Our kids were also chosen for a special activity in the Mission Tortilla Factory at California Adventure. They used Mickey-ear cookie cutters to cut shapes from a tortilla (not an easy task). The kids both received a chef's toque, and while they wrote their names on them, the cast member popped the tortilla shapes into a "magic" oven, and brought out a tray full of warm cinnamon crisps. We each got to sample a fresh crisp, then we each received a small bag of pre-packaged crisps.

This past weekend my friends and I won a Dream Fastpass at Disney-MGM Studios. Around 9:15 am, after an Extra Magic Hours morning, we headed to the Great Movie Ride. We had already seen everything we planned to see in the park that day so this was going to be our last stop before heading to the Magic Kingdom. Once we entered the boarding area, the Dream Squad appeared and gave the cast members Dream Fastpass lanyards to distribute to everyone!

With our new fastpass in hand we decided to hit Tower of Terror and Rock N Roller Coaster one more time before leaving. On our way out of the park we found a nice family who looked like they could put the remaning passes to good use.

My DH won a set of the ears, after exiting Mission Space and being asked to participate in the "Mission: Space Race" team video game- he wasn't going to do it at first, because he'd planned to meet up with me and the boys afterwards, but they told him that he'd be "glad he did", so he went for it. :)
They're certainly different- the cap part is blue with white clouds and has the "Year of a Million Dreams" emblem on the front, and says, "Live Your Dream" on the back, the ears are silver.

You can see a pic here:

I just got back on 10/17. While mom & I were not among the YOMD winners, we did witness a dream in the making. We were at a store in MGM, and something just seemed "up". We were in Mickeys of Hollywood (I think--it's the 1st store past Sid's), and I noticed a couple of CM's, one talking on a walkie-talkie, and that CM said "Ok, they're at such & such a place, making their way towards me. Ok, here they come!" Then out of seemingly thin air, a huge group of CM's in various dress swarmed the store entrance. Then a family wearing the YOMD ears showed up & the CM's pretty much went crazy, clapping & cheering. The family was a mom, dad, son, & daughter (a young family). The family was then awarded a $500 shopping spree for that particular store. 2 CM's then handed each of the children a shopping basket. It was a really nice thing to see.

We just returned from our trip and we won the AK dream fastpass much to my husbands dismay!

We had gone to AK at opening to see a physical exam of a new cheetah and we were waiting to see the cheetah. While we were waiting the girls were wandering around looking for the many hidden mickeys. My youngest came back with the dream pass that someone ( a CM ) had given her.

We had been carrying on an indepth conversation with the CM with the cheetah and she saw what was going on and I told Cassidy that we would have to give it away because there were 5 of us and just one FP.

Well there were three off duty CM's who were also given the dream passes and they weren't allowed to keep them so they gave us theirs and we were still short one. The CM we were talking to about the cheetah said to hold on and she left and went and got us one more.

It was a double special moment.

Just prior to that when we got off the train one of the conductors gave my husband the pass it on tinkerbell pin.

We were just supposed to be at AK to see the cheetah then we were going to EPCOT. But we took advantage of the Dream FP and hit all the rides...we were actually allowed to keep on of the dream FPs and not break off the passes for our scrapbook, so we have one full dream pass still.

We were able to do all of the rides in under 2 hours! It was awesome and we loved it.

Thanks to Disney for the contest, thanks to the CM's that couldn't keep their pass and passed it on to us, and thanks to the CM that completed our families dream!

It was truly a dream come true! :mickey:

Not to put a damper on the 'Million Dreams" give away, but we just returned from two weekes in Disney and this is my observation. My DH and I were there for our 25th anniversary and my birthday. I heard several people who had not only got one dream but two or three in one day and they where families with children. The way it appears to me is that if you are there with children then you will probably get a "Dream" If not forget it.

:mickey3: :minnie: Don't get me wrong we still had a great time and we did have some "magical moments". :tink: The first being my birthday at MK. When I got my BD button a CM in guest services gave me a pin off his lanyard as a BD present. Then at Cindrella's Royal Table I got a BD cup cake, since this was after my dessert I gave it to the little girl behind me, and BD card signed by Cinderella.
Our sencond MM was at Winter Summerland Mini Golf. My DH stood by while my Mother got into a verbal sparing match with the attendent. When the CM noticed my DH was wearing an anniversary button he asked him how long he had had to put with this her, indicating my Mother. When he found out that she was the Mother in Law the CM decided that my DH deserved a metal. About halfway though our game he came up to my DH with a card Congatulating him on "puttin up with (you know who)" for 25 years. He had attached two pins to it. When my Mother complained that she didn't get anything, the CM came back a short time later with a bag of sweet and sour candy with a pin attached. As if this was not enough, when the same CM found out that we where going to play a second round, he said it was on him. This provided us with some great times in an otherwise stressful visit from my Mother.
Our third MM was on our second to last day when we had breakfast at the Crystal Palace at MK. Both my DH and I where wearing our anniversary buttons. When we where sat at our table there was a heart made of Mickey Mouse confetti.
So you can see we had a really great time, and we can't wait to go back. :mickey3: :minnie:

My wife and I were at WDW the 7th through the 15th. On the 10th we went to EPCOT for the Food & Wine Festival (the first of our four trips that week). We decided we needed a cool off and were right by the American Adventure. The next show wasn't for another 25 minutes, but we figured it was more time in air conditioning and I always like to hear the "Voices of Liberty."

Upon entering we were greeted by a CM and responded with a "hello." I asked my wife if she wanted to sit towards the center or off in the corner. She replied that, "we've already seen the show, let's let someone that hasn't get a good seat." With that we sat off in the corner. About two minutes later, the same CM that greeted us asked us if we wanted to be the First Family for the Wishes Celebration part of the next showing of the American Adventure. Once my wife was clear of the fact we would not have to do anything in front of a crowd, we accepted. We were given a Wishes certificate and got to ride the elevator up to the second level where "reserved seats" were placed by the rotunda opening. After Voices of Liberty performed, we were allowed into the theater before everyone else and select our seats, and before the presentation began, announced as the First Family to the audience.

It isn't the most exciting "Wish" win, but it was cool nonetheless.

BrownEyedGrrl also posted above, that her husband was by himself when he received his Dream Ears.

The Dream Team CM that posted here made it very clear they don't pick the winners.

I have a two week trip planned in March.. I don't really care if I win or not, but my kid would be thrilled. I didn't even tell him about this. I'm hoping if he wins it will be a cool surprise and if he doesn't he'll have had his usual "Magical" Disney Trip. :)

Hi everyone,
I just returned from a 3 day trip. I was there Fri Oct. 20-Mon Oct. 23. During that time, we hit all 4 parks from opening until almost close with no breaks during the day. With my luck, I totally was not expecting a wish for myself, but I did expect to see other people getting one or signs that someone had gotten one. And I saw absolutely nothing. No dream squad CM, no guests wearing dream fast passes, etc. It was a little disappointing because I do believe that it is random, but a lot of people will just think that they only give a dream away to the cute family once a week, etc. Like I read somewhere on these boards I believe, if I didn't know it was the YOMD, it would have seemed like nothing special was going on at all. I may be returning in January so perhaps I'll see a wish given then.

This is not only sad but does seem odd, I hope maybe you were having so much fun that you were to busy and just happened to be on the other side of the park when they(Dream team) were passing out fast passes.
I know it sounds far fetched, because that's the kind of luck I have!

We'll be there in Jan with my family and my sisters too!
So, maybe the magic will be better for us all then!

We where the same. We didn't see anyone win any dreams. Now knowing how they dress we may have seen a squad member or two. I only heard people talking who had won something, that they had won and their friend had won and someone eles's child had won, but we never saw anyone winning or any of the prizes. My DH kept asking if I was sure it was going on now since there was no sign of anything. We where there from Oct 3 to 13 and in the parks every day.

:cheer: Keep on wishing and hoping since people are winning and you never know it could be you. :pixie:

Surprising to hear reports of not seeing Dreams and Dream CMs. I was there Oct 1 thru the 7th and saw people with prizes everyday.

The Prize Squad CM's are in white vests. Usually 3 or 4 to a team. If they have a duffel bag and it's not bulging, it's pins or fastpasses. If it's bulging, then they have Dream Ears.

I saw people with dream ears everyday except Oct 1. I saw Dream Fastpasses everyday. They are hard plastic cards (with FP tabs) with a gray lanyard. The Ears are sky blue with clouds and silver ears.

I don't think they'll ever award these lower prizes in a public area. The need to give them to people in lines to make it random. So the random place is usually going to be a turnstile for a ride.

Best of luck everyone! Can't wait to go back!

Kickoff week might have had something to do with it but Donna was there about the same time. I did try to hit the parks with evening EHM. Maybe they prefer those parks since it gives guests more time to enjoy the wish?

I'm curious, has anyone won a wish outside of a line?

Hi all... I am not trying to be a big baby here so please take this with the light heartedness that I am writing it with. :mickey:
My family along with a set of neighbors just returned from a 5 day long weekend at Disney World. I will start off by saying that we had an AWESOME time! The kids all got along and we did 4 FULL days of parks and there was very little whining. I guess that is a mom's dream right there :secret:
I have to admit that I was a little bit disappointed with not seeing any Disney dreams come true. Yes, I would have LOVED for it to happen to my family, but I would have been happy just seeing some of the Dream Makers that I have read about here at intercot. And believe me... I was looking for them! I thought it would have added a little bit more excitment to the trip if I saw a dream come true. Oh well... we will be back in March and maybe I will get to see it then.

First hidden mickeys, now hidden Dream Squads. ;)

The best place to see a Dream Sqaud is at a turnstile.

That is good and bad.
It's good because if you see them they are just about to, are in the process of, or just finished handing out dreams.

The bad part is that Disney does a great job of "hiding" the turnstiles.

We got our prizes on Aladin's Flying Carpets and Triceratops Spin. Both are probably the most open rides the DS will award on. I saw a couple boats worth of people coming out of POTC with brand new fastpasses. I'm sure they were awarded deep in the depths on the ride. Same with Soarin. I was waiting for some riders at the end and a pack of people came by with new Dream Ears. Again, probably given away far away from the mayhem at the front and right at the turnstile to get the proper "random" effect.

Some earlier posts talked about a CM seeing a cute kid or nice family and giving them a Dream. That will not ever happen. It's illegal.

So my advice is to get in a lot of lines and look for the white vests. Also, look for the older CM's. The Dream Squads seems to be made up of the seasoned pros.

Good luck!

Probably true, but just for reference, a CP friend of mine from 2002 stayed with the company and is now part of the Dream Squad and he is just 27. It is a temporary promotion from his usual Guest Relations job.

My wife and I got the Pin and Lanyard set. I think it was on Monday the 2nd of October, though it might have been on the 1st. We were coming back over from Tom Sawyer island, and as our raft docked, the TOMD CMs came over and asked everyone getting off to stand over to the side, as they had a surprise for us.

So, it was sort of in line, but also sort of not. Either way, I was really excited to get a Dream! I have a good friend who I converted to the ways of Disney a couple of years ago, and who loves the pins, so my wife and I are doing what we think should be done with a dream - we are sharing it with others. For his birthday in December, my friend will be getting one of our sets.

This proabaly doesn't apply much to this thread but my boyfriend and I just returned from our first trip to DLR and we got the Dream Fastpass! We were not in line for any ride. For any that are familiar with DLR we were standing by the exit of BTMRR in a very quiet shady spot arguing over whether the fish jumping through the pond were real or imagineered, lol. It was kind of hard to tell at first but I insisted they were imagineered. As we were standing there alone my boyfriend said to me "Aren't those the Dream Team you told me about?" I look to my left and there they were to my surprise. We had been there four days and I had not seen any of them, but then again we were too busy enjoying the park for the first time. There were two of them and a very business like man standing near them. So I walked over to ask them about the fish in the pond to settle the argument and hope for a sweet surprise in return. They handed over a Dream Fastpass before I could even ask them my question! We went to the business looking gentleman to ask about the fish and while we were talking to him hordes of people starting coming over. They just gave the Fastpasses to anyone who had their hand out, I would say at least twenty were handed out while we were talking to the other guy but we also left before the mob cleared. It may have not been my first "dream choice" (cough.. grand marshal..cough :faint: ) but for us on that day it was indeed a dream come true, after three days of next to no waits Friday brought in wall to wall people and fastpasses were going quickly. Just thought I would share my experience with the Dream Team, hopefully I will have another when I get back from WDW next month. :wait:

We were in the world 10-28 to 11-5.

First moment, we were standing waiting for the doors to open for "Little Mermaid" when a CM approached our 6 year old daughter and asked if she would like to be the "first mate". Then, once the CM was ready to open the doors, she brought our daughter up on the "pedestal" where they do their speil before opening the doors, announced my daughter's name, location, and asked everyone to say Hello to her. Then my daughter was instructed to say "Welcome to the Little Mermaid" over the PA. After that, another CM came out and announced "on behalf of the Walt Disney Company, we would like to present this special gift to (daughter's name)". It was a Platinum Edition DVD of The Little Mermaid. Daughter was thrilled.

Second moment, we were having dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern on 10/31 (before the Halloween party). We finished dinner, and out comes our waitress with a cake, and asks, "is it anyone's birthday here". We said, "no". And she said, "good, we would like to wish you all a happy UNbirthday" and had the entire staff sing, "happy UNbirthday" to us.

We saw many wishes/dreams being given out. Also many "dream ears".

hi ,
we just got back from a 2week visit to DW. just to let you know that our daughter won a dream. she was chosen during the afternoon parade to enter a competition with some other kids. it was a huge thing staged in front of all of main street. it was organised by an ordinary cast member then a different cast member took over to run the game. he wore smart clothes and seemed in charge. he played mickey says with the kids...and our daughter won. he made a huge fuss of her, gave her some pretty disney necklaces then asked to see mom. he came over to me and asked her if her dream would be to not have to wait in a queue for her fave rides..she said yes and he said that she had won fastpasses to 2 rides of our choice for the whole party. along with ice-creams for everyone. she talks about it all the time...especially how she skipped a 60mins wait for the haunted mansion. these little dreams are what make kids memories ..well done to disney :minnie: :mjump:

We won Dream Fast Passes at MGM on 10/25/06. We got them first thing in the morning while we were in the Tower of Terror Room. Everyone in the room got them. We normally don't even need fastpasses but being able to have multiple at a time enabled us to go on the big rides more than once.

THe second time, we just got a couple of anniversary buttons, no big deal. The third time, my daughter was asked to be in a parade at Magic Kingdom and she was asked to autograph the Dream Squad member's book, which meant a ton to her!!

It means A LOT to her and it was amazing of Disney to do that!!! KUDOS to them!!

My Husband and I won a dream! We won dream fastpasses for Epcot. We got to the park really early since it was our last day (11/26) and we wanted to do as much as we could before we had to drive home. We were let into the area in front of the dancing fountain and we watched the opening ceremony, where one family drove in on one of the test track cars and the characters welcomed us to the park and we got to count down to the park opening. Of course everyone, us included, made a mad dash to Soarin'. My husband and I were at the head of the pack and speed walked ourselves into the first group allowed into the queue. The dream squad then came out and congradulated us for waking up so early on our vacation, and told us he had a reward for us. The squad members then passed out dream fastpasses. It was so awsome, because we had to leave that day, and we got to ride every headliner in the park. It really was a magical moment! :mickey:

Just returned from Disney and am delighted to report that my sister (mtown71) and I were both 'touched' my the Disney dream magic! On our MGM day (Dec. 5) we arrived at park opening, and our plan was to head straight for ToT. Well, as we closed in we noticed most of the 'pack' we were with headed for it, so we decided to hit Aerosmith first, then to ToT. We rode Aerosmith, then got into line for ToT(20 minute standby time posted). We got into the room, watched the video then suddenly the lights in the room come on and a woman is standing there. She congratulates all of us and tells us that as part of the Year of a Million Dreams promotion we have won Dream Fastpasses for MGM!!!! We were so excited! Then on our last day at DIsney (Dec.10) We had gone to the Magic Kingdom to play until our Express pickup time. We were on our way out of the park and stopped at the Pin Trading Kiosk located right by the Confectionary. I had two Stitch pins in my hand, debating which I wanted. My sis asked what was up and told me to hurry. I told her I couldn't decide between the two and could only afford one. Suddenly a woman came up next to me, dressed nice with a Guest RElations cast member pin on. She told me to just get both. I thought she was playing around so I told her I wished I could but really could only get one. She winked at me and told told me that as a part of the Million dreams promo she was granting my wish and handed me a voucher, telling me to get both pins!!!! I was so touched, moved, excited I started crying! (I'm a dork - I admit it) It's one thing (and a nice thing) to get the fast passes but for Disney to do something so nice as to give away free merchandise like that - WOW! I hugged the woman and got my picture taken with her! I can't remember her name at the moment, but if she is reading this I just want to thank you again for making a moment so magical happen for me! That was the perfect end to a really magical week!

Seems like some of the food cart cm's are authorized to give out free goodies. I was the first customer of the day at the TOT espresso cart (which I think is outsourced, even), and the cm said we were having a Magical Moment, and if I guessed the number of coffee beans in a jar she would give me a free muffin. Well, it took about five tries ("Higher," "MUCH higher"), but I finally got reasonably close to the number and got my muffin.

A nice start to the day!

Later I noticed the same jar of beans at the drink stand just inside the Studios entrance.

DS and I had many run ins with the Dream Squad....mostly to trade pins, but here is what we had the pleasure of receiving:

Dec 7 -- we had I Magical moment and were asked to go into the control tower at IASW.....DS got to "start" the ride and then we got to ride in our own boat (with Jamie and oh, I forget his name!!! It was his first day though)......also got to see a guest getting a tink "get one, give one" pin set....as he let my son have the pin he wanted from the Dream Squad.....we were in the midst of trading when the guy walked up and Jamie was talking to Jacob.....it was great!!!!

Dec 9 -- We walked into One Man's Dream and were given wrist bands....I asked what they were for and the CM said, just inside you'll find out! We were treated to an Extra Special Magic hour at MGM from 8-9:30 pm that night!!! The park closed at 8, we were to report to the Indiana Jones theatre for further instructions....Herbie, leader of the Dream Squad treated us to a concert by Mulch Sweat and Shears.....they were great!!!! Mickey and Minnie stopped by to start our Extra EMH and it was limited to the people in the theatre -- I'd say maybe 2000 peeps total......the park was totall ours!!! All the majors were open -- which for a four year old boy kinda limits what we can do, but we did do Muppets, the Osborne Lights, Playhouse Disney dance party and some other roaming around.......he can't ride RNR, doesn't do TOT (he did it last time and is scared -- hey, he is only 4!).....Do most boys do Little Mermaid? I think not, so really it was a nice stroll for us......we left at 9:30 and the park was EMPTY!!!!

Dec 10 we were approached in the Living Seas by a Dream Squad member who actually approached Jacob and asked if he wanted to trade pins......they did and that was it......I think maybe if you pick a certain pin you might win something, but not sure......

Dec 12 at Magic Kingdom was our super Dream Squad day.....We were escorted to Jungle Cruise and got on immediately and only three other people on the boat....Jacob also was given a Disney Difference pin from the DS member as he told him all about how he helped someone when they lost their pin. Later, after we had eaten lunch we were headed to get Jacob's hair trimmed at the Barber shop and he stopped another member of the DS and asked to trade pins......he conveyed to her how he helped a little girl at the Poly beach when she cut her finger-- we gave her a band aid....she reached in her bag and got him a Tink "get one, give one" pin set!!! Then, she asked if we'd like to be in the Parade!!! We were and it was super fun!! Finally I told Jacob we had time for one more thing....he asked for PP (I knew it was going to be longer that 10 minutes) -- I said if the wait was under 20 we could go on....he also asked for ice cream and I said after PP.....well, on our way to get ice cream, since PP was 40 mintues, he waylayed two more Dream Squad member to trade pins with (I kept telling him they were busy people!!!)....anyway he traded his pin and told the guy we had to go to get our plane now, we had to go home......he then asked if Jacob could go on any ride one more time which would it be?!?!??! Jacob chose PP of course!!! All three of us rode PP together and at the exit we were saying goodbye.....Jacob asked him what was in his bag.....could he see!!! He was granted a glimpse into the magic bag!!! I asked too, but was told no.....it was magical stuff in there!!!! Now, Jacob turns to me and says "OK mom, it's time for ice cream!".....the Dream Squad member then looks at me and says "come with me for a minute"......leads us over to the ice cream cart and spins the menu around and tells Jacob to pick whatever he wants!!! What a mgaical way to end the trip!!!

I think 1500 prizes a day is pretty good odds, but is that per theme park or total?

With the hundreds of thousands who visit each day, that is not very good odds in my mind.

I think that they can't be random without a computer. We were there for Christmas and I saw all kinds of people with new buttons that read "My first visit" and I couldn't help but think that these people would be selected over others without the pin to make their "first visit" special.

These must be new, I don't remember them from any visit I have been on before. I would love to get them for my neice (5) and nephew (4). We are taking them the end of this week. I talked to them last night, "We are going to see, Mickey are you?" was the first words I heard! I think I am as excited as they are.

This may be a silly question, but.....
If you enter the mail in sweepstakes and win, can you still win again later in the parks???
Is there a limit on what/how many times you can win?
I usually don't win ANYTHING, so there is probably not much risk for me :) but just in case! :mickey:

I got the Tinker bell pin that they give to people that they see doing something nice for someone else. There are two pins one is for you to keep and one is to give away to a person you see doing thing nice for someone else. But it has to be that same day and in the same park, you give away the other pin too.

Still wishing to get one of the Ears though, There really pretty.

I'm not sure if this comment is wanted here, as it happened in California at Disneyland, but anyway:

I had heard all about the giveaway and the dream squad (I know what they wear), and I think I kind of had my hopes up too high on winning something. On our first day at Disneyland, I had pretty much forgotten about that giveaway (I was just thrilled to be at Disneyland) the first attraction my sister and I went on was Splash Mountain (because it was to be closed for the rest of our visit), and after staying on 3 times as there was no line, we got off and the dream squad was there and gave us the pin and lanyard set. What a start to that trip!

Let me point out that my sister and I NEVER saw the dreamsquad after that (we were at DL for 5 days). We saw people with the mouse ears and the dream fast passes, but we never saw them being awarded, and we are the kind of people that go on rides like crazy. I wish everyone a lot of luck in winning something. If we hadn't been on Splash Mountain that one day we wouldn't have even come close to winning anything.

They don't ask if you've won before. All they said to us (upon exiting Splash Mountain), is "You are a winner in the Year of a million dreams, here ya go!" We didn't need to give our name or anything.
We could have won a prize twice a day, having been in the right place at the right time! good luck

My wife and I were in WDW last week and on Friday at EPCOT we won a Pin and Lanyard Set. 2 of only Four Hundred Eighteen Thousand Seven Hundred Eighty-Nine (418,789) they're giving away. It was really neat winning something. We kinda lucked into it. We were waiting in line to get on Soarin' and we heard a buch of cheering from around the corner. Then a CM came and asked if there were any parties of 2. My wife and I raised our hands, and we got to go ahead of a couple larger groups. When we got up to the place just outside the entrance to the ride, we found out what the cheering was about - everyone about to go into the ride had won the lanyards.

My family and I won Epcot fast pass. We were at the Robot races and were told to make sure your entire family was present. There was one older gentleman who decides to, "meet yall back here", then once we were all there and about to start the robot race, we got the pass. It was great and we did not use the pass, my husband wanted to save the entire thing. Besides, we had gone early December; there was no need to use the pass. But we are a small part of history none the less.

During our Oct/Nov 2006 trip, my daughter won a private meeting with Cinderella! Then later that week (her birthday actually) she was awarded an honorary servant of the Haunted Mansion and got a cute little YOMD certificate with it!

I wonder if anything will happen when we are there next week?

We really didn't (and still don't) expect anything, so it was absolutely amazing when it happened.

Capt'n, are you a ride rider? If not then I think your odds are quite low. To avoid a public area mob, all of the low end dreams seem to be given away to people in line or just out of line. It's the only way Disney can keep it effectively random.

We 'won' several things while we were there in late January/early February:

Brandon (DS 3yrs) got to be an honorary cruise director at It's a Small World - he got to stand in the booth and wave at the boats, he got to say 'hi' on the speaker and he got a certificate - what a thrill for him!!!

Brandon was an honorary fire fighter and got to ring the bell in the old firehall on Main St - they do this once and hour. He got a small card with his name on it.

Brandon & DH were at Casey's Corner when the CM's burst into song with "Take me Out to the Ball Game" - they got free Cracker Jacks.

We were in line (at the end) for the Tea Cups when we were picked to be the 'unbirthday' family - we got to go to the front of the line and we were able to pick whatever tea cup Brandon wanted. Everyone in line had to sing the happy unbirthday song. We got a certificate and an 8x10 picture of Alice & the Madhatter.

We did not win anything huge, but it was nice to get chosen for what we did get!

If you read the Rules and Regulations for the contest it specifies 3.5 x 5 postcard. The rules also repeatedly specifies "eligible postcards". I do not know how they process the cards however, if it is through some type of machine and the machine is set up to only accept 3.5 x 5 postcards then I would say that it would probably reject the envelopes. I would imagine that if the index card is 3.5 x 5, then that would be okay. Just remember that anything smaller then 3.5 x 5 will be rejected by the Post Office and returned back to you. Good Luck:tink:

Yeah Wacky.. why do you have to brag so much!?

Anyway.. I know this isn't an "official" dream, but on my DCL cruise (I know.. they don't participate.. but still... a dream!) in Jan for my Graduation, my mother won a $200 piece of jewelry from the Gemstone Seminar! We never win anything!

Later, my mother, grandmother and I went to the Disney Music Trivia game, and I got a perfect score! The only one... you know what that means.... yup a REAL medal that had the DCL logo and "I'm a Winner" on it, as well as a really nice insulated, silver mug that said "Event Winner" on it. I never want to use it. There were ones for purchase in the gift shop that just had "Disney Cruise Line" on it, and they were $22! My obsession with Disney movie (and esp park music) paid off!

I know that really wasn't official or anything.. but... well.. still!

I've sent in only a few cards and we're going during the Intercot Anniversary Celebration, so I hope to win, but, of course, won't get sidetracked w/ it. We'll do our normal Disney doings!

Congrats to all official winners... even you Wacky!

My pre paid postcards from the post office are 31/2 X 5.

I haven't been doing the postcards lately but I am going to start back up today. Yippee!!!!

As a side note....
I don't send my entries in on just a post card. I write my info on a 3.5 index card and mail it in a regualr envelope because I am not comfortable mailing my info for all to see.
I wasn't sure if it would work that way, but obviously it has!!

I must tell eveyone that my family won the mouse ears twice. Well different member won at different times but we ended our trip with evryone getting the ears at some point. This was back in April. We went from the 5th - 20th and had a wonderful time. Several members got their ears when they got out of the water at TL's Crush and gusher I think it was called, and the rest of us got them when we were at MGM getting on the starwars ride. They told use we would need to wear them so the force would be with us.(my kids got a kick of of that)
It was so much fun to walk around showing off that we had won something. Would not have mattered to me if we had not won anything I still would of had a wonderful vacation, but seeing as we did it made it extra special. I now have all our special ears sitting in my china cabinet. They may not be china but they are worth displaying just like china.:mickey:

I would like to be included in the list of winners. In October 2006, I won "Special Edition Dream Mouse Ears" when I was on the Great Movie Ride at MGM.

I had another parcel from Disney today so now I have Dream ears from Disneyland and Walt Disney World. Now if I could just get the lanyard.....

Somebody at Disney must have been listening because today a Disneyland Lanyard and pins arrived :D That makes a total of 3 prizes from around a dozen postcards. Hopefully that will make me as lucky as Ian when I go to WDW in October ;)

I just found out about this now! Include me in your list...apparently I'm pretty lucky (which is laughable because I never win anything OUTSIDE DISNEY!)...anyway, on New Years Day I won a Dream Fastpass early in the AM on the Magic Carpet ride in Adventureland. Three days later, I won ANOTHER Dream Fastpass again at MK on Dumbo right when it opened.

Last month, when I was in Epcot, yes I won a THIRD Dream Fastpass, this time on Test Track. :mickey:

Here's hoping my streak continues in Disneyland this weekend!

I sent in four postcards a couple of months ago and won a pin and laynard set and than last week sent in four more and won a pair of mickey ears. I was in Disney for 8 days and didn't win anything. I guess I will keep on sending a few cards here and there, I would love another pin and laynard set, they are great!

I've been pretty faithful in sending in my post cards and nothing. Just my luck. I think I'll probably be just as lucky on vacation.

I was at Epcot last Monday & a CM approached me around 9:15 am and asked if this was my first visit to a park on this trip. I said yes. She then asked if I would participate in a 5 min survey. I said yes. She wanted me to walk with her off to the side to the right of SE. I asked if we could just do it where we were but she said we needed to step aside. I said no thanks b/c I was with a group of 9 and my baby was crying. The CM gave me a strange look and I went on. Later I got to thinking and I wondered if she was part of the Dream Squad. Has anyone been asked to take a survey and instead been awarded a dream? The CM did not have any of the typical gear (mini computer, etc.) that the CMs who do surveys usually have. I can't remember exactly what she was wearing either. This is going to drive me crazy! What do you think this was all about?

:mickey:Actually, my DD won. We were in tomorrowland in MK June 20th. She wanted a picture with a dream squad person, just because this is a one year thing. We asked David if we could have her picture with him. He made pleasant conversation and then his "phone " went off and he told her that she had won something. We were invited to watch WISHES later that night from the top of the Astro Orbitor. The coolest part was getting the chance to sit down and talk to 2 Dream squad members before the show. They are excited as all of us about all this!! We were privately escorted up on the elevator, watched, escorted down...we felt SO special!! And then they gave us a great looking certificate! It was just so awesome how special they made us feel!!!:mickey:

We were asked to do this too, last summer It was indeed a survey. No worries about missing the dream team. I doubt it was that.

I didnt see my prize on the list, but we won a limo ride from the airport to our hotel when we arrived at MCO. I had just finished checking in for ME, when a guy came over and told me that Mickey called, and I would be receiving a "special" ride to our hotel..It was great! They took our picture and everything!

I've never OFFICALLY announced my hubby and I winning Dream Fastpasses!

We were Family of the Day at MGM-Studios on our honeymoon in May. We chose RnR as our first ride but it was having problems getting going so we had to do ToT first.. no biggie. When we were in the TV room the DS was in there and said "Congratulations, you both are winners in the Year of a Million Dreams!" It was very exciting.

Our family won pin/lanyard sets on 9/5! It's SOOOO exciting to get chosen for something! We saw a group win Fastpasses that day, and a family get chosen as the family of the day at Epcot the next morning. It's just as fun to watch someone else win! :)

I've won 2 lanyards (one came this week in my son's name) and 1 set of ears.

Then, yesterday I got yet another certified mail notice - but not like the others that were for lanyard and ears packages. This one says it is a letter from WDW, not a package. Anyone else get a letter??

Not in the new YOMD, but I wanted to add when we went in Aug. last yr, my DS's each received a YOMD pin for their lanyard while at MGM, and then the next day at Epcot, we were waiting for American Adventure (I think it's called), and while waiting inside, they made my family the "Family of the Day". We got to enter the theater ahead of everyone else, and pick our seats, and then before the show started, we were announced (names, where we were from, etc.), and everyone applauded. We then received a certificate. Pretty cool! :mickey:

I curious. When they first began the YOMD promotion, they, I'm sure had a predetermined number of prizes to be given away. Did they extend because they set aside more than they could give away in a year, after all they have given away a lot of pins, lanyards, ears, & fastpasses. Or did they increase the number of prizes they would give away. For instance, instead of 2 DVC memberships, there would be 3 or 4, maybe even 5.

Either way, I'm just glad they extended it for a year. Maybe when we go, we will be fortunate and win something. We're already lucky, because we get to go. That would be the icing on the cake! :cloud9:

I received a package on Saturday and in it was the YOMD 2008 Ears. They are dark blue with white ears. I guess it got to expensive sending the packages certified because now the postage is bulk rate and is delivered by regular mail. Starting the year off good! Did anyone that mails in postcards win anything besides ears and lanyards in 2007? :minnie:
