View Full Version : "Floaty" pens

A good friend of mine is a collector of those "floaty" pens - you know, the kind that have water in the handle and some sort of floating object in them when you unbalance the pen. She found a particularly gruesome one made in Denmark of Van Gogh's Starry Night and a floating ear. http://www.intercot.com/boards/pukey.gif

She also purchased one from e-bay from Disneyland Paris. My question is: I have search high and low to find them at WDW and came home empty handed. Has anyone else spotted these anywhere? I looked in World of Disney, the Emporium, Mouse Gear and in every shop I was in where I noticed they sold stationary objects.

Thanks for any help!

Eva

I know what you are talking about, I picked up several of these on my trip in 97. I have one of ToT, one for Aladdin, and Splash Mountain. The SM I got at the gift shop as well as the one from ToT gift shop, I found the Aladdin pen at 2R's Reading and Riting at DD. On my trip in December I don't recall seeing any of these pens. Hope this helps.

Know exactly what you're talking about (I have 2 Beatle ones -- one with the Yellow Submarine floating and the other with the Beatles crossing Abbey Road)...Unfortunately, I don't recall seeing them at WDW.

There are currently two styles that can be found at the Disney Store. One with a Mickey head on the pin cap with Pluto, Minnie and Goofy floating in it and one with a Pooh head on the cap w/ Tigger, Eeyore and Piglet floating in it. I know these probably aren't as exciting as some that you are wanting but they are something that might want to be added to a collection.

OK, in my last post I said they were pins, but I'm sure you all knew I meant pen, just thought I would clear that up. Don't want everyone thinking I'm dumber than they already do. Anyway...

Since I just returned from WDW I can verify that I did see the floaty pens at Tower of Terror and several other locations. These new pins are larger than the original floaty pens but they seem pretty neat.
