World Famous Minnie Moo dies at 15

Minnie Moo, the Holstein cow born with a large silhouette of Mickey Mouse's head and ears on her side, died recently at 15 years of age.

The average life span of a Holstein cow is 12 years.

Minnie Moo came to the Walt Disney World Resort from Minnesota in 1990. She lived for several years at Grandma Duck's Farm (now Goofy's Wiseacre Farm) at the Magic Kingdom Park and later moved to the Petting Farm at the Tri-Circlle D Rancing at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground.

Millions of adults and children have visited Minnie Moo to see her tradmark silhouette.

A memorial plaque for Minnie Moo soon will be located in the trophy room adjacent to the barn at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground.

"Minnie Moo brought much joy to both our guests and our Cast Members," said Tom Hopkins, Animal Operations director for Animal Programs. "We will miss her greatly."

I can't believe this!!!!!!!!!

Just yesterday I was talking to my girlfriend (who is going to WDW with us this weekend) about Minnie Moo. She was distraught that Small World was down for renovation, but feeling better about seeing Minnie Moo.

She is going to think there is an evil conspiracy against her now..... http://www.intercot.com/boards/blue.gif

I can just see it now; Disney throws one of those $1000 plate diners for 100 people to eat the Mickey cow. It’s for the fans that loved her ya know. While there at this special diner, you will have an exclusive chance to buy varying leather goods made from her hide, and some lucky bidder will walk away with her stuffed head to mount on their very wall to always remember the "magic".

Don't worry, the Disney marketing people know that not everyone can afford to bid on these high priced items. That is why they have been saving Minnie Moo's cow chips for the past five years. For a low price of $10, anyone can afford to take a small piece of Minnie Moo home with them to cherish for a lifetime. Not only will you feel the magic, but now you can even smell it. http://www.intercot.com/boards/biggrin.gif

We were at the Petting Zoo in July and Minnie Moo's stall was empty. We kind of guessed what happened.
