We are thinking of doing an excursion to the Atlantis hotel in Nassau. Can anyone please tell me if any of the trips allow you to wander around the hotel visiting the shops and casino on your own, thanks for your help!

We took the Discover Atlantis shore excursion, which includes your transportation (ferryboat) from Nassau harbor to the Paradise Island pier and back again and a tour of the resort, including the seaquarium. It does not include anything to eat or drink, or anything besides the tour and ferryboat. There is another tour, "Atlantis Beach Day" that get you a meal and the use of the Atlantis beach facilities in addition to the ferryboat and seaquarium.

When the tour was over, the guide left us on our own with careful instructions about making sure to catch the last ferryboat of the day. If you miss the last boat, it is an expensive taxi ride across the bridge and back to the ship.

The whole resort was very friendly and pretty laid back. There's upscale shopping, the beach, the aquarium, the casino, and a couple of places to eat. Nothing seemed to be off-limits to us, except that the casino is adults only. Even there, kids can walk through, but not hang around (not even to watch - Bahamian law).

Thanks for the reply!!

I am a bit confused (probably me graemlins/crazy.gif ), do you get to walk around by yourself and make your own way back on either trip ? or just the beach day trip ?

Sorry, for being graemlins/crazy.gif

Thanks

After you're done with either tour, you're left on your own to explore. smile.gif It's then up to you to make your way back to the ship. That's why they emphasize the ferry schedule. Your tour package includes two ferryboat tickets to get to & from Paradise Island. If you miss the last boat, there is a bridge and taxi service. The taxi is not included, and is expensive. :(
