Now it's time to plan the evening itinerary.

Yesterday we had a group who desperately wanted to go to Disney Quest, but it was getting late and they really wouldn’t have had much time to get their moneys worth. DQ is NOT included in our passes- so it would cost everyone an extra $30+ to get in. Mostly it was the older boys (the 16-17 year olds) who wanted to go. So tonight 2 adults agreed to take them over there, along with 2 younger kids. They had a terrific time. Except for one poor kid who had been on the verge of heat exhaustion all day- he finally reached his endpoint. He took some Tylenol and fell asleep at DQ!!! Quite an expensive nap.

The rest of us decided to stay at Epcot for the parade and fireworks. The kids NEEDED to ride Test Track and go to the Innoventions Sega videogame area. We all had to eat. The plan was to split up and meet at the fountain after the fireworks. The boys and 3 adults stayed in Future World. They rode Test Track at least twice, played in Innoventions and ate in the Land food court. They also discovered Food Rocks- it was to become a favorite of the week. The guys all sat in the front row and sang and danced along with the show.

The other adults (me and 6 others) headed for Morocco for a wonderfully sumptuous dinner without kids. We ordered the Royal Feast- which is served family style (at $40 per person, including drinks, tax and tip). A sampling of appetizers, huge main course plates and dessert. SO MUCH yummy food, plus live music and a bellydancer!! We were totally stuffed and happy when we were done. Next on our tour was Tapestry of Nations. Right as we were walking out of Marrakesh- we heard the music starting. The 6:40 parade come toward Morocco and exits there, so we just stayed where we were and watched the whole thing. My husband and I are ToN addicts- last year we had to buy 2 copies of the CD- one for home and one for the car! We love this parade. Now we were able to share it with our friends- it was magical. They loved it too. Next stop- Blast! If you have a chance to see this show-don’t miss it!! It is simply fabulous. It's kind of like the show Stomp! And a drum & bugle corp combination. Lots of brass, lots of energy. These performers LOVE what they are doing.

Here's where my handy-dandy 2-way radios come in. As we are watching Blast! My radio goes off. It's my 14 year old telling me they "lost" his brother and another scout http://www.intercot.com/boards/eek.gif The 3 adults with them are starting to panic. I know we have a pre-arranged meeting place, and I know MY son (even tho he's only 11) knows his way around Epcot. Although I'm not quite sure why, I was actually VERY calm, and not at all worried. I told him not to worry and to let me know if they find them. Then I go back to watching Blast!

About halfway through the show, I hear my youngest calling me from behind the rows of the theater!! He and his buddy found us!! My son said they got separated when they went to the bathroom after TT. They came out and couldn’t find anyone. They looked for a while and began to worry a little. Then my son remembered where the adults were eating- so he took his buddy to Morocco (smart boy). Unfortunately, we were already done eating when they arrived, so now they were worrying a little more. His buddy is 14 and has been to WDW before, but is not as confident as my son is in desperate situations. Anyway- since they were lost and hungry- they decided to have dinner. No sense in starving while you're lost, huh? They got fries and something else, and kept walking around World Showcase. We have a troop hat which they kept looking for. They were amazed at how many hats can look the same, but not be the ones you're looking for http://www.intercot.com/boards/blue.gif As they approached America my son heard the Blast! music and told his buddy- "This is something my mom wouldn’t pass up- let's look here!" They scanned the audience and found us- they first spotted one of the men in his hat http://www.intercot.com/boards/supergrin.gif. They persuaded an usher to let them in to our row and we were happily reunited. I was SO PROUD of my Disney kid and his cool and calm thought process to find us!! I asked them what they were going to do if they hadn’t found us- and they were going to watch the fireworks and meet everyone where we had planned. (Call me Proud Mamma).

I tried to let the other group know we had found them, but the radio signals weren't working. The downside of these radios is that they don't always work when you are in a building- some of the attractions won’t let the signals pass through, so you just have to be patient and wait for the other party finish a ride or show. When Blast! was over, the 2 wanderers wanted to get back to Future World, so I let them go and re-confirmed our meeting place. I told them I’d keep trying to contact the other group- but if they got there first, they should call me.

After a while I did get a call- they were all together again and the adults were finally relaxed! Actually one of them wasn't worried after he heard me on the radio saying I wasn't worried. He rode TT and the other stuff while the other 2 "responsible" adults (feeling pretty guilty) kept looking for them.

We decided to have the whole group walk back over to Morocco to watch RoE together. It was during the 2nd ToN parade, so I had them walk past Canada around to us, instead of trying to fight the parade crowd and getting separated again. It worked beautifully and we had a spacious area nearly all to ourselves. We even had seats for some tired puppies. Everyone was impressed with Reflections of Earth- it is so amazing- I love it every time. After the show, we made our way slowly back through Future World and to the monorail, back to the TTC and onto a Crockett bus for home. We didn’t get back until after 11:00. The DQ gang wasn't back yet either- I think they rolled in around midnight. Everyone was happy and very tired.

Just as I'm brushing my teeth before bed- our next door neighbors (the other troop) were in the bathroom complaining about our Reveille wake-up call http://www.intercot.com/boards/wink.gif I explained that we ALWAYS wake up the troop that way (we're all scouts, after all), and we usually blow Taps each evening as well, but we were too tired tonight.

I hit the sleeping bag exhausted but happy. Another fun day- things are working out really well if I do say so myself. And I am still SO PROUD of my "lost" son!!

Well, that completes 4 programs in 2 days- a very energetic schedule by any standard.
Next up- Day 4- a bit more relaxing (certainly for me- it is my day off http://www.intercot.com/boards/supergrin.gif

ToN and RoE are our favorites. After we saw them the first time the first thing we did was go and buy the CD. Then when I got home I burned a couple more copies in case anything happend to it. Love it and can't wait to see it again.

I agree....wow...what an exhausting report!

You must be really proud of your son....be able to think of what to do when you're "lost" and remaining calm. Whenever we go to WDW, the boys get the "drill" on what to do if we get separated or in the case of my 15 year old when he wants to go off on his own for a while and he can't find us.

And I guess your son redeemed himself after the episode of "losing" his pass in his hat http://www.intercot.com/boards/wink.gif. You just never can figure these kids out somtimes, huh? Thanks for keeping us so entertained.
