Day 2, part 2

After the days' programs we took the launch back to FW and let the kids swim for a while. We have arranged to give everyone $10 a day for a dinner allowance, so everyone can choose their own places to eat dinner. And we don’t have to be in the campsite or cook http://www.intercot.com/boards/wink.gif. It took until 5:30 for everyone to decide who was going into which park for the evening. The scouting deal is- 2 chaperones per group. So they had to decide where they wanted to go and get 2 adults to agree to tag along. After HOURS of fragmented discussion (in between volleyball and tetherball games), almost all of us ended up choosing MGM. One small group of 4 scouts and 3 adults went to AK til it closed and were back in the campsite by 9:00.

Our group went to MGM. We ate dinner first at Rosie's on Sunset Blvd. Then they all ran to RRC and ToT. We had a meeting place arranged for 9:30 at the Kodak Store at the front of the park and the scouts separated from most of the adults and had their own fun. They rode RRC twice and ToT twice- they never made it out of Sunset Blvd!! The adults I was with rode ToT (but I chickened out with 2 others at the last minute http://www.intercot.com/boards/blue.gif). Then we all rode the Great Movie Ride and just walked around for a while. Mostly shopped.

While we were waiting for everyone to gather at the Kodak Store, my youngest son (age 11) got the photographer in the digital-magazine cover area to take a sample photo of him. It was so cool- he was Indiana Jones. They fit your face into a real photo. We were cracking up!!! Well, more boys wanted to try it, and the photos were $30 for 2 copies of the same photo. I felt bad for the photographer cause I didn’t think we would actually buy anything. Little did I know http://www.intercot.com/boards/supergrin.gif Our group ended up buying about 6 or 7 of the photos. Some had 2 people in them, so at $15 each it actually wasn't so bad. My older son (age 14) and a friend had theirs done as sexy cowgirls in midriff tops and long, wavy hair. It was hysterical. My son was the blonde!! They were a little embarassed to see themselves as girls, but they bought the picture http://www.intercot.com/boards/supergrin.gif Then my husband and my youngest did a Toy Story photo as Woody (hubby) and Buzz(son) on RC racing down the street. Lots of others were SOOO good. We were there until 10:30!! And ended up leaving with the exit crowd from Fantasmic. So instead of beating the rush for the buses, we were in the thick of it. It took a good hour or more to get back to FW.

What a long day this was. And it was just the beginning. Tomorrow we get to sleep in... til 6:15 http://www.intercot.com/boards/eek.gif
